JAY's audio memes (and reviews/ranking too I guess)

That feels more U to me. I remember Chonk uses klippel vs a coupler.

Here’s his 7Hz Five one:

Okay. Going to have to say that I don’t agree with Chonk’s rating on a few things so maybe some additional grains of salt here.

The following are also rated as “V-shaped” (not listing all, just ones that stand out):

Elysian Pilgrim
IO Volare
Tanchjim Origin
Truthear GATe

Aight he must’ve forgot to change that column or he trolling

I don’t think he likes too much bass. So maybe anything with bass is V shape for him.

@VIVIDICI_111 Maybe the source used had a slightly high output impedance? That might affect the frequency response and explain why it sounded like it had more bass.

He actually liked the Five, though. And the Legato.
Legato’s sound was listed as “Warm”

Idk man cinno as a vshape is a bit of a stretch hahahaha

The guy on here that wrote the very first Estrella review said the sound was v-shaped, and with the tape mod it is neutral bright.
As a non-expert even i have heard a million times that the FR graph can be very misleading. So something that graphs as neutral may not actually be neutral sounding.

I would get the pre-production set together with a production set and compare them. Then, if they changed the tuning and face plate you can tell them to remove your name from the iem, recall units shipped, and so on. If the sets are similar or similar enough then it is what it is- suggest tips, dacs, and what have you.

Stay positive man, i know that it feels like a pressure filled time but dont let it eat you or change you. Ya, it is easier said then done but it beats the alternative.
Cheers!

RIP

I figured Estrella was on its way since I tracked it to customs release but I guess there was an update later that night. Info says it should clear itself but don’t know.

I’m in the same boat, brother. It’s tough being patient with all that’s been going on, but let’s try to keep our heads on straight

That’s normal give it a day or two.

This. Probably a 1-2 day delay at max, never had something that hit “exception” and didn’t still come relatively quick.

Got it.

Was my first time seeing exception when tracking via like Ali or Linsoul so hit the panic button too early? :joy: My bad

I don’t have any updates on shipping my kit. I’m going to ask Linsoul because I can’t wait any longer…

Superchonk and Joyce got back to me, and you guys can expect their reviews sometime this Saturday and Sunday :+1:

Superchonk told me it needs some burn in time, brain or physical, and he personally likes them with wide bores.

Run out of hearts for y’all

Hope everyone gets their Estrellas ASAP :sparkles:

I got my shipping notice this morning. That’s two weeks to the day, far short of the 4-6 week estimation.

:skull:

I feel the same way.

But to be absolutely fair, the Titans straight out of the box were a bit harsh in the upper mids. After a while of listening, though, they cleaned up a bit. I don’t think the typical 200 hours or whatever is necessary, but a few hours of playing might make a difference.

I’m becoming a little bit of a believer myself, but that’s only because I’ve experienced it first hand.

I simply ready it as “Ear burn-in” anymore but people are gonna do what they do and hear what they hear.
