I forgot you had a set lol. I’ve been rolling through some of the tips that came with the dioko. I typically use cp100+ on everything as they almost always fit but I know that they typically bring the mids up a bit and I want B A S S. So far I’m liking the orange tips the most. They fit my ears (yay) and are a bit longer with a I’d say medium bore, slightly conical in shape.
Crank them up brotha
Tip wise I’m just using what fits me - the ones that came with the Khan.
If you want to try something (at least to me) hilarious, eq a 6db low shelf at 200hz. My k3 has a bass switch that does said eq and I just find it hilarious the amount of bass.
I’m using Rosefinch’s stock tips. They are just about the most mid-bass emphasized tips I’ve heard, and I want ALL the stinky bass on Rosefinch!
Yeah, thanks to Brandon, he put me on these things and from the first time he told me about them, I had to jump on the opportunity. It’s been months now and I am forever grateful - what a set for less than $20. That makes sense, I will say that Brandon is right, the stock tips are actually not half bad in terms of sound and comfort tbh - for me personally, the nozzle is a bit long and comfort is an issue, but the stock tips are nice and soft and they give adequate amounts of stinky fat ass bass.
Oh - 1000%. I’ll let Brandon take it from here since he discovered but if you want legit stupid bass with out EQ, take his advice
@domq422 with you having heard, and now owning, the maestro minis how would you compare them with the rosefinch? I’m almost wanting more sub bass. I’ve been using my ej07ms alot with a 2db shelf at 300hz so I’m used to the mildly tucked mid bass with heavy emphasis on sub bass. I feel like I’m missing that sub slam I get with the 7m’s. I’m wondering how the mm would sound since it has a bass mountain lol.
What you need is micropore tape like this: 3M Micropore Tape 1530-1 (2 rolls) 1 x 10 yards https://a.co/d/8xVcLkD
On the inside part of the shell near the nozzle is a little venting hole. Take a piece of tape and cover the hole on each earpiece. You will get your sub-bass boost
Oh, I’ve already have
If you want an even bigger boost, use regular tape so it gets a 100% seal.
(you might get pressure build up or driver flex though.)
You’re a monster!
KBear Storm Impressions:
What I liked:
- Very clean female vocals and uppermids
- Fun v-shaped tuning/exciting
- Solid mid-bass texture and impact
- Decent extension on both ends
- A CRA with more uppermids focus
- Natural note-weight
Not for me:
- Cramped staging
- Mids are recessed
- Uneven upper dynamics
- Vocals are sibilant and sharp at higher volumes
- Great for mid-volume, but not for treble sensitive peeps
Tech is what you can expect at this price point, but I guess the main issue with the Storm is that due to the mids being pushed back and the presence of a thumping low-end, I can’t really hear the midrange so when I try to turn them up to hear it better - I can’t because of the elevated uppermids or else it starts killing my ears. Feels like the Tanchjim Zero but with more bass and not as smooth dynamically.
Wouldn’t recommend to treble sensitive or those who like listening at higher volumes, but I can see the Storm being an attractive option for people that likes V-Shape tunings since it’s very “fun” sounding.
What regular tape are you using? I taped both vents with regular clear tape, but the bass didn’t change (graphed it and the graphs were identical). Do I just need thicker tape?
I personally just use blutack actually. But as long as the tape gives a complete seal, it should do the job the same.
Like electric tape for example.
Aight. I’ll try some different tapes and see.
Your critiques about high-volume listening are fair. It’s a lot of uppers focus for that! I think I’m on a moderate volume kick right now.
Rosefinch is for blowing my brains out, so other things can be more easy-listening or analytical for me
Your HRTF is also very different since I remembered you said you wanted as much 6-8K presence as possible haha.
Also, I cave in and bought the IE200. Hope it’s a mini 600
Yessir! I want all that mid-treble. Funny thing is Rosefinch is crazy boosted in the mid-treble, but it scoops out the presence area and rolls off the air, so the treble isn’t too spicy.
Definitely will look out to hear your thoughts on the 200s
All that bass also helps hahaha
I am excited as well brotha :))
