I agree here. There is no 100% ideal IEM for rock and metal (guitars and cymbals are very difficult to tune, excellent dynamics, layering must be at the highest level, etc.). Also, there is no 100% perfect versatile IEM that can do everything. Even if there is, there will always be someone who doesn’t like it 
. I applaud you for your efforts in creating the Mirai, technically I assume it is very good, or at least meets the asking price.
By the way, I like more sub bass over upper bass for metal, but still have some amount of upper bass. Cheers, happy new year and success in your endeavours!

agreed with you. this is probably the best answer you can give, and the “preference thing” for how certain genre should sound like is the the main point not the question of whether if x iem or sound signature can play certain genre or not. not to mention the way certain tracks were recorded , the rooms, the equipment etc differed to others noticeably.
Here are some song examples, i picked well known songs in particular.
they Sound pretty dark, rolled off and kinda lo fi. all have that early 13k 14k roll off that makes the replay to have less resolution overall. there is no bite to the guitars or any transients in general because the upper harmonics were cut off. You might like this sound and think its “correct”, "non fatiguing " hence metal should sound like this but as as you can see, on faster songs it gets muddled up and turn into soup pretty fast( listen to the later track from ne obliviscaris). i personally don’t like this sound but so many do.
another example of something in between
This one got sharper transient hits and fuller midbass hence punchier drum hits in general, probably because the monitors they used had lower group delay on the woofers and the time for the woofer to vibrate and be done was lower compared to smaller monitors. Also its much more “flat” sounding comparing to the last tracks that were more downward sloping so this results in a brighter and more shrill cymbals compared to he former songs (this also improves the positioning and imaging of the instruments). You might think this is how metal should sound like, balanced and slightly bright tilted to get proper imaging yet the transients stay sharp and punchy but the last sound engineers who produced the former songs would disagree. I personally like this the best
And then you have songs like these
Sounds quite anemic and noticeably bright compared to other songs (the beyond creation and black dahlia murder in particular sound shrill and strident). Subbass is more boosted over lower mids(specially on the first song from archspire). Lower harmonics of bass guitar, snares, rhythm and lead guitars were cut off. But why? As we know, more bass=more congestion and the sound engineer knew this so they eqed instruments on the mix on these particular tracks that are “faster” and more prone to congestion to be clean and mud free. You might argue" thats" not how snares sound like irl, or where is my bass guitars" but this is how it works better for these faster songs for the price of getting a more shrill sound in general and faster fatigue.
And you have metal songs like these, you can afford to sound full, warm and cozy because its just slower and there is less bpm in there. Why you wanna cut the bass and boost the higher frequencies? to improve imaging on a slow song? No reason tbh unless you want an anemic fatiguing sound.
Does this mean all the producers were " wrong"? not really. they all liked the song to sound just like their ideal vision and tastes. you have 100 metal songs or any song from different genres in general, and all would have different production on them.(like i tried listening to kpop and got a few hundred songs by now 95% consist of female vocals, and some had mid to upper mid boost, some had subbass boost and less midbass emphasis, some had all punchy bass no emphasis on subs, some were low res and rolling of pretty quickly and some extended strongly up to 21k+ to get a more resolute and sharper sound).
these are the differences in the sounds that personally makes me wanna listen to flatter sound signatures because they are just versatile, they aren’t the best at any music replay or “giving life to x genre” but they are the jack of all trades without doing weird stuff by altering frequency response in general (like boost in bass helps anemic songs and destroys other songs, or bright sounds helps darker dounds but rapes the ears on other tracks, dips on treble to avoid sibilance helps some songs or sensitive ears but makes other more correct songs sound darker or wonky to some people and etc…) but someone else will disagree with me.

I think people think about price and driver count or drivers way too much in audio. You like what you like, simple as. I encourage all others to build people up and feel there is enough products and room in the audio hobby for all to share their opinions and all to feel valid.

That’s the hardest thing for many to understand, there is no universal truth, it’s not black and white but a bunch of companies trying to make a buck who don’t give a damn about you, but are trying to feed their kids and buy their second Yacht. This is a review sample sent from Hifigo. The opinions are my own, but I am going to try to express them in a clear manner after having had some time on them. This isn’t a set I would buy from looking a the graph. I’ve been highly disappointed in just buying the latest craze set, but this set is fully enjoyable for me and I am loving my time with it. I was able to chose what color I wanted looking at the shells. This set has created many memories for me.
Cute story I allowed my 7 year old son to pick which version he wanted and he picked blue. A few weeks later when it came in I showed it to him and he said. “That’s what I wish I could own when I’m an adult.” Suffice it to say the little guy is a big fan of the Plutus Beast, and for good reason, it’s crazy beautiful and classy looking.
This is a funny hobby. I have a watch case, and for various reason I keep 5 iems in this case next to my desk where I spend a big of time each day. Right now I keep the NiceHCK F1 Pro, 7hz Acoustics Supernova, Gizaudio Binary x Chopin, Aful Performer 5, and you might have guessed it the Plutus Beast.
Summary-
Iems just inject goey lovely music into your brain and it’s a special part of this hobby. But if you’re willing to branch out into the unknown and try something you might find something especially unique and lovely. The space and air of this iem is majestic, the richness to the iem is unique, and I feel it is very special but holographic and I don’t say that easily about many sets. It does something for me when I listen to music that I didn’t think would be possible from a set that is 100 dollars or less. It makes me enjoy music and satisfies me down deep with a fun awesome concert-like experience that is vivid and emotional in a way that I didn’t know that I needed. This iem lives up to its name and is a BEAST. Enjoyable analog feeling for those who need a beautiful set, that doesn’t need a recable or case to be bought. This is an easy recommendation for yourself or a gift to a friend. They’ll love it, and so will you.
But we don’t always need the same set to listen to music. It’s fun to have various beautiful easy-to-fit sets in part of your collection. And this is why I think the Plutus Beast is a treasure, not because it it perfect but in its imperfections and uniqueness make it stand out in this world of AI imperfections and writing and everything sounding sterile and docile, this iem is the analog to the digital and it satisfies the beast in me. For it’s price it is a unique set that is easy to fit in the ears, beautiful, and plays some tracks better than many 1000-dollar sets.

Overall signature would be harmonious with a slightly dark tilt. Comes in a 4 x 4 box, and it isn’t branded or labeled. Just has a nice little case and a reasonable cable, that looks great. The cable is a little stiff, but not bad, just say that it does feel a little cheap feeling and stiff, it is beautiful and a nice iem.
The technicalities aren’t great, but the vocals are pretty solid and enjoyable. The fit is amazing. While maybe not better than other 200 benchmarks for me like the Quintet, Aful 5, and the Unicorn Choppin, it’s still very good and an easy recommendation and a clear 5 star, and the only 5 star I’ve given under 200 dollars… so far. It’s just nice, not just for the price but overall just delightful.
This iem is great on instrumentals and classic music and has a strong tonal balance. Female vocals are a bit too sweet and unnatural. Male vocals could be a little stronger but the bass response is great and the quality is very strong.
A 170-dollar set that doesn’t disappoint.
It’s a step above the Magic one in the quality of the bass and above the Nova in everything but the bass, If you have that 150 dollars and want to know what to buy and can’t stretch… this is a strong set, that I don’t think you’ll be disappointed by. @Dan_X hi. Early impressions of the Mega5EST are positive. I think it’s an enjoyable all rounder with safe treble for those that are sensitive. I’ll be posting my review later today, at least I’m hoping to have it done. I’ll post some impressions here as well.
