Just got the SMSL SU-8 DAC!

Yeah, I was about to say the same thing… anecdotally, I’ve had issues with some programs when going too high with it. I think 24/96 is probably high enough… anything more would honestly, probably be inaudible.

I don’t have 24bit in settings, only 32bit…see picture above

Go with 32 bit 96 then. If you install the SMSL driver, you might get more options.

Yes, that actually was an issue for me when the driver didn’t install correctly, 32 bit was messing stuff up so I had to install the driver to correct that

Can’t play music in Foobar wasapi like this…

If i install driver then I should get 24bit?

Correct, I’m telling ya 32 bit can mess everything up lol

So this smsl driver should help with that?

Correct, it fixed that issue for me. It allowed me to choose 24 bit in windows

Looks good to me, you should have no issues now :+1:

How to activate this ASIO?

What software are you using to play back music? Asio will mute all other programs, so I only use it if you want to just listen to music and nothing else.

Foobar with WASAPI

Well if you are using wasapi that’s pretty much the same thing then (it will accomplish the same goal), so don’t worry about it

Any other suggestion for settings in SMSL…Like PCM filters or Sound?
Or you just leave at default?

So that’s more preference. The dac filter options are pretty subtle, but the sound modes like tube or rich are fairly noticeable and just tune it to how you like.

Maybe I missed it but what was your previous DAC before getting the SU8

I still have it FiiO E10K.
Why?
