I’m just going to say I use my koss on some pretty high end stuff lol, sounds great
This comes to mind
The green light makes them look like alien or outer space headphones.
it is a fantastic photo lol I’ll get to try the 75’s soon
which makes me think even the ifi zen dac would be slightly overkill too as well, should I jump down to dac-x6 or k3? I’m using laptop on board currently.
I only really have experience with the xd05+ but my question would be are you using other headphones as well with the amp?
I think Koss is the most power-hungry I have hence why I’m curious for an entry-level dac/amp. Rest are Pro 82, Blon B8, and KZ iem. I also have a 2.1 logitech speaker set that I rarely use, now they’re glorified headphone extender through the remote lol.
Honestly the better the amp or DAC you use the better really lol.
Chances are the DAC-X6 sound worse than your laptop.
Fiio K5 Pro is recommended (and cheaper than the Zen dac).
Edit: If you want portability, the XD05 (non-plus!) is even cheaper. And looks like a desktop DAC anyway heh.
Also, if money is a problem, you just can buy a little amp (JDS Atom), straight into your laptop, enjoy the power, then order a DAC in the future (SMSL M100, SMSL Sanskrit 10th, Topping D10, etc). and enjoy clean sound.
(Yes I know the Schiit Heresy is now available for the same price as the JDS Atom but for IEMS and a Takstar? holy overkill batman lol. The 1 watt from the Atom is more than enough.)
The noise floor with iems is slightly lower on the atom from my experience so that works well with iems
I mean at this point you probably don’t need one but if you want one the k5pro comes highly recommended on the forum for sure but it’s pretty pricey and (at least in Canada) it’s more expensive than the zen… i’m not familiar with the k3 but the fiio btr5 is also highly recommended here and more budget friendly
I would suggest skipping the k3 and go for the k5 pro or btr 5 instead imo (or the zen dac)
did you name a budget?
Oh, yes. The btr5 is a good everythingizer that can be used as a wired DAC/Amp too as far as I know.
Oh wow, it can be used as a USB DAC, has dual ESS chipsets, and when plugged in, it shows the sample rate.
That’s a really great little thing.
It’s a pretty versatile unit, I kinda like it when I want something simple
@M0N, see where your mistake is? You should have speakers in the shower and then the bedroom too, this way your hair is free to be appropriately styled and cared for. Also, the kitchen, yard, and porch are best enjoyed with speakers IMHO not headphones🤗
I have outdoor speakers on my desk that I got for a good price so that’s solved. Also I can hear my 2nd desk setup pretty well from the kitchen so that’s also taken care of.
They my fav outta this bunch. 30is are too dark for me. Ok once your ears adjust but the 75s are good outta the box imo.
