I would say the HD58x, the HE4xx is a very neutral sound (nothing really stands out), but the HD58x with new earpads can be almost painful. I put my old HD650 earpads on the HD58x and it helped a lot. I’m not saying either of them sound bad, but with the HD58x you’ll hear foot steps in games better than say the HE4xx. HE4xx is better for music. The best thing I can say, watch Z’s HE4xx, he has a special way of going nuts over neutral headphones, I prefer something warmer.

I got HD58Xs and had to put em over a DVD rack for one night to make the pads thinner, and twist the left-right metal parts of the headband to make em squeeze my head a bit, otherwise yeah they were painful. Now they’re warm/neutral and smooth and everything sounds natural.
Surprised to hear the he4xx sounded natural “out of the box”, though. Thanks for the answer!

I tried demonstrating the different headphones I have and their sound qualities (strengths and weaknesses) to my 14 year old. The least expensive were Porta Pros (which I love), and they ALL sounded better through the RNHP! It didn’t help in illustrating my point. 
My Current endgame. I know its lame, sorry, but its what i have. I know theyre pretty shabby. we’ll see if theyre replaced with something else. im still breaking headphones in. Think i’ll switch pads.

its think its obvious now that the sp200 and SU8 are dogs and upgrading is desperately needed. Thanks to these forums i’m throwing them away tonight, theyre in the garbage as we speak, and new order put in at Amazon

I bought a AudioValve Solaris. I mean Zeos recommended it. Why settle for 2nd rate? Being a audiophile i’ll get there eventually so why not head myself off at the pass? Avoid a lot of expense right? but um… im having some credit problems. It may take a while to clear up. So i had to fish the SU8 and the SP200 out of the trash. For the time being mind you…
