Let's talk about computers

My gaming rig.

Case: Caselabs STH10
Cpu: 9900k @5.1GHz
Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus Xtreme Waterforce Z390
Gpu’s: 2x RTX 2080Ti
Ram: 4x8GB G.Skill Trident Z 3600MHz
Ssd: 860 EVO 1TB, 1x Samsung 970 Pro 1TB M.2
Psu: Phanteks Revolt Pro 1000W
Screen: Samsung Odyssey G9 240Hz
Watercooling: 480+480+480+480+240

How do you like the G9? I’ve been holding off because of the QC issues, and apparently they’re re-releasing it with some fixes. It’s the only monitor out there that can tick all the boxes though, HDR1000, high refresh rate, ultra-ultra wide. Everything else compromises somewhere.

It’s really good…even that the monitor have some issues…but if they gonna fix them, of course you should buy one…you will not be disappointed. The spec are awesome :grinning:

Btw anyone planning on buying a Zen 3 CPU, The new beast will be the 5800x like the 3300x from last gen due to the architechture of how its made. The 5800x will be the best binned cpu out of the lot. Will mainly benefit in overclocking but it is the one to get guys!!

My edit so sorry its bad quality haha

There probably won’t be much headroom when it comes to an all core OC, just like Ryzen 3000.

An another topic of thinking of would be aftermarket CPU air coolers. What are your thoughts about the Deepcool Gammaxx 400 CPU air cooler? I have been hearing a lot of good things about it despite it being a budget CPU air cooler and I am thinking of getting some aftermarket CPU coolers in order to improve the current temperatures that I have with my Stock Ryzen cooler.

Not heard of deepcool really but all I know is I recommend Noctua to everyone haha. Noctua are simply the best air coolers u can buy.

Another vote for Noctua. I have several of their fans and heat sinks. Great products.

if you ar on a budget it should be able to coole up to a ryzen 7 no problem I just wouldn’t OC on it. its just ugly and uses bas LED’s I jwould just spend the $6 extra for a hyper 212 black edition or a cryorig m9A personally

as much as I love noctua they can be pricey for a lot of people. and they are so big case clearance is a concern for thebiggest cooler. I do love intsalling them so easy to. I dont rock a notcua cooler sadly and instead opted for be quiote for the better ram clearance and better case clearance fir a 2 degree sacrifice.

Oh I agree they arnt for everyone but I dont know what CPU he has and if u want to cool a beefy CPU I feel they are the ones to use. Atm i still use a 212x by Cooler Master and it does just fine but for my next build which im planning to use a 5800x, I am planning to use a NH-D15 as I want 0 cooling issues and am not fussed by liquid cooling what so ever. IMO air beat water.

I think I am good with it, also Noctua? I would if they are not so fucking pricey in the first place. I would rather have the expensive parts of my PC rather than some freaking fans and cases lol.

Fair enough haha but if ur say paying for top gpu top cpu the cooler isnt that big of a deal :stuck_out_tongue:, Its all about budgeting right. If it has good reviews sure go for it

With that I will, though my Ryzen stock cooler is not that bad and they are definitely better than Incel- I mean Intel’s shitty stock fans.

Honestly the thing is the stock cooler is really good would it even be beneficial to upgrade it? what CPU are you on. As ik the 3600x runs perfectly fine on stock wraith cooler and even has OC room if u want to push it abit.

well more like the previous 2600x and yes it is still doing well temp wise. I just want to get an aftermarket CPU cooler for reasons.

What reasons haha if it works why fix it. Seems like a waste of money no? could put some weeb shit in the case for that money hehe

Lol, yeah but I just want to make sure

I have the Scythe mugen 5 rev b.( the am4 edition).
Should be like 50$ now, easy install, includes a screwdriver, big enough to fit almost any case.

The included fan is also very good.

It kicks the shit out of the stock coolers. My 2600 would cap at 3.6 ghz thermal throttle with the stock cooler. Went up to 3.8 then slowly went down to 3.6 as temperature rose in the case.

With the mugen I got it to 4ghz all core stable in stress test, then set it to 3.9 max for daily use. Nevermind, it’s at 4Ghz, it’s been like this for 2 years, forgot.

I would not spend noctua money as long as this scythe exists for a 6core. Maybe for the 8cores or higher something bigger is worth it.

Also the noise on the stock cooler was annoying for me, not loud just a weird pitch.

I would post temps but they’re irrelevant unless I let the PC cook for 30-40 minutes with some furmark and prime95.

Deepcool, Thermalright, Rajintek, Cryorig, etc. are lesser known in the west, still make some good products.

Arctic and Silverstone make some good coolers too.

Comes down to what you want to spend. As long as a cooler takes standard sized fans, noise can be fixed later.
