Let's talk about computers

The HP M01-F0017ng in the “8BW14EA” version used to have it, now is just with the Vega11 APU or 5500xt.

Tells you all you need to know about BOM vs performance…

Edit: Looks like the 5300xt was arround for about 4 months (starting October 2019)

the idea of the APU is bypass the need for a discreet GPU. if you’re running a Ryzen 3000 or 5000 CPU though, you will need a discreet GPU and in many cases, something quite simple, like the RX 5300 XT.

I know.

Looking at AMDs APU lineup, I think they decided the low-end GPUs are not worth it.
I mean, look at it:

yeh…the entry level GPU market has suffered and stagnated because of Intel.

and for multi-display purposes, that damned Nvidia GT710 is super popular. :stuck_out_tongue:

Rightfully so.
Sapphire could make a fortune if their GPro cards were cheaper.

they’re a far sight better priced than Nvidia’s NVS 810…though it does support up to 8 displays vs th GPro’s 6.

also, the deets on the RX 6000 look good. just read the small print about how rage mode and that cross-platform performance boost tech are also being used in their performance reports.

pricing is very favorable. wonder what Nvidia will do with a 3090 competitor that’s wAAAy lower price.

Really looking forward to tests.
I wonder how exactly the infinity cache affects performance.
This for me would be the most interesting part of RDNA2.

So glad I held out this long to get a card consumer is winning this generation. Glad I have a adaptive sync monitor. I really hope and nails their tech with drivers and upscaling AI as I truly believe that’s the future of high refresh rate gaming

indeed. just keep in mind that all the performance details included their fancy new tech that requires you to have a Ryzen 5000 series CPU and a motherboard with a 500 series chipset.

That’s fine with me. I’m already halfway there. All I gotta do is upgrade my cpu.

Not all had that tech enabled. But we cannot really tell apart the performance of the singular cards because the settings weren’t consistent.
Buildzoid already did his rambling.

I was initially really excited to see AMD have something that could compete with the RTX 3090 for $500 less. But it turns out the only version of the chart given was created with their new “rage” mode enabled. So not quite as compelling. Regardless I’m sure it’s bound to be a better value than a 3090. So there’s a pretty good chance Nvidia will respond with a 3080 super

Yeah but from how rage mode works its only a power state boost. Like on afterburner putting gpu on 100% to 110% it doesnt actually Change any clocks. So its not a huge deal in change in perfeormance.

Anyhow no one should be angry at this lauch… NO ONE!!! We finally have competition at the high end isnt that what everyone wants? Competition brings much better stuff so bring me all the cards. Bring back the AMD vs NVIDIA because im sick of seeing only nvidia. I also hope Intel comes back swinging, as it all means for consumers is that we win.

we’re still a ways off…but if Xe DP2 is as good as a 3070, it may spice / liven things up.

*Provided AMD’s claims are accurate.

there’s a caveat there.

Nvidia or AMD are going to lead…one of the other, not both. so even if AMD doesn’t actually perform quite as well as they led on to believe, if it’s 95% the performance at 2/3rds the cost of a 3090, that’s still a win.

yes but if it can even be a little weaker than the 3090 it’s stilla $500 difference and a $200 difference than the 3080

personally more excited to see waht this means and how pricing will affect the 3070 or 3080
