Let's talk about computers

Damn dude bell has basically upgraded my city’s whole infrastructure so everyone can piggy back off them. Thankfully I had a guy working on sales for them and got a sick deal for gigabit down and gigabit up. Huge upgrade from my 8 Mbps down and 3 up

That’s what I got, but I get charged out the ass for it, and it’s not stable nor reliable, thanks charter

I’m measuring 97Mbps up/down on speedtest.net

Dude, you have so much audio gear you do not need the internet. :stuck_out_tongue:

My parents complain about Cox cable in AZ all the time. Price, speed, reliability are not “competitive”… I used to get text messages from my mother “is your plex down?” I would respond with “no mother, your internet is”. She stopped at one point and started having my daughter message me instead.

LoL! why not help upgrade your mother to more stable gear? it would be unusual for internet to fail on the ISP side all the time. :stuck_out_tongue:

She had new gear. Besides, when I suggest things I suggest things kind of pricey and they do not like that. They are more for “middle of the road” kind of gear. Besides that the issue seem to be related to they moved into a brand new development. Cox had to expand and build new stuff for the new homes. The issue has been resolved. Cox either redid their infrastructure or ran more lines (fiber) for the new homes in the area.

Parent’s rarely (if ever) understand that “bad internet” is not caused by the people in the house using it, but by the ISP.

ah…good, it’s fixed.

having 250 down is pretty nice…it’s not really a big limiting factor. most things, even big torrents come down swiftly. I love private trackers…so many reliable seeds!

The worst part is not necessarily that they’re going to sell a lot of them, I don’t expect they will, the worst part is that they are actively looking for the boundaries and are normalizing hugely expensive bull$hit (and have been for years). It’s not the $700 wheels that piss me off, it’s the fact that in a year or two they’ll sell a new Mac Pro with new wheels that only cost $499, and there will be people who’ll actually think it’s a good deal.

well if were showing off

I just watched the LTT video on it. It always bugs me how he makes excuses for this sort of crap and shifts the blame onto the customer and media for “giving them free marketing”. Criticism is criticism and corporate motives should factor into it.

Screenshot of the Routers data graph at a LAN I helped set up at Uni.
The Download/Upload (Tx/Rx) is not that interesting at that moment, the data downloaded however… (Mind you, that is over 50-ish hours)

I would agree, if it wasn’t for the fact that there is a point to it, along with the fact that Apple and their cultists don’t care.

Mac enthusiasts are no longer cultists…Job’s is dead. and if I had the money, I would buy a higher end Mac Mini…but alas, I do not, so I cannot, LoL!
