Let's talk about computers

Nice thing about MSI, they keep their motherboards updated. I had a Gigabyte something or other before my B450 and I think they updated it for about 6 months.

Thanks! Yep. That is my main workhorse.

I have a bunch of other builds for different purposes too.

I see you have some builds that are also friendly to budget-focused builders and that’s very considerate especially due to the given landscape of PC building nowadays, for some of the newcomers aren’t able to afford parts that they want. Also your Website is professional, keep doing on what you’re doing man.

I also was considering a Gigabyte mobo if I couldn’t find a stock of the MSI board I posted here, but I was a bit skeptical on them since I never used a Gigabyte before and I had no issues with MSI since I bought my B450 board. ASRock B550M Steel Legend also came to my mind, but I am worried I won’t be able to get it to work properly since some people told me that I have to like do some specific settings changed first before I can get it to running it well, so I went for the safe route going for MSI.

Is the assembler the same guy in Moondrop’s marketing department?

Angry Steve is the best Steve. And to think, Jay liked that thing.

Yeah, Steve’s videos are the reason why I prefer his content nowdays than the other tech tubers that have the similar interest as him. His humor and blunt honesty on tech-related things is a must have nowadays.

They are both basically correct. Minisforum makes some of the most interesting non NUC mini computers, but as a repeat customer… their QC leaves a lot to be desired. Always buy their things from a 3rd party with a good return policy is my advise with them.

Weirdly enough when ETA prime got one of them there was no issue
This just proves to me that minisforum has inconsistencies with the quality of their products

Here are a couple more companies pulling shenanigans they shouldn’t be pulling.

Yea, honestly I find myself preferring the stupid insane product names companies have to use when they release a ton of very slightly different things instead of this let’s name everything the same and then just silently change things BS… looking at you WD.

Roman found the same issues.

I need some opinions please, since I know VERY little about computers. I have a 6 wk.
old Asus Zenbook which I really like, BUT for the second time the headphone jack has
quit working. After working fine for quite a while it cuts out, both times after selecting a new track. (note I do also use the usb out to my dac amp often) Last time Geek squad fixed it over phone (driver?)
So…is this common and I need to learn to fix it myself, or should I send it in for repair, or get a replacement? Still under warranty obviously. Thanks. PS a simple restart does not fix it.

Sounds like it.

At work and at home, a recent windows update introduced a lot of random issues that went away with installing the most recent chipset driver.

Best way is to go to the Asus website and click your way through to the drivers.

:warning: Drivers and where to get them

ALWAYS get your drivers from the manufacturers webpage! Those “Driver autotuner 24 Master Edition” Things are garbage 95% of the time!

Better to have someone help out than break something

Hahahaha! Yeah I tend to do fine until I misinterpret a term or just hit a wrong key!

Guys, please teach me how to cable manage my cables from behind. I cannot relax without thinking about the poor method that I did for my case, also it’s not helping me that much when I have a PSU that is an ATX-size meaning the cut-out holes where the USB3.0 and JFP Pin cables go to are blocked by it.

I mean sure from the glass panel it looks clean, but my cable management on the back panel is basically a freaking nest or a spaghetti mess and I am not exactly a cable-management guru.

Carbonpolymerssss is just for the looks. “Sporty - Cool”
Unless the hole case is actual pure carbon-fibre. It’s just pointless and stupid.
In most cases to save weight… because you move the case a lot?
Case being on floor or table like 99% of times… Weight saving gives zero benefit.
The 1% might hammer it to a wall and might benefit something?
Making young boys peepee hard and nothing else.
