Gumiho doesnā€™t seem to be a ā€œtrueā€ planar though. Kinera marketing definitely flexed their muscles on that one

Iā€™m looking for a balanced planar, and there doesnā€™t seem to be much offer: every good planars seem to be more or less v-shaped. Talos seems ok, but some review made me think twice about it; and I donā€™t know if I want to pay that much for a switch and a ba that will probably never be usedā€¦

It is closer to a planar than any other driver out there though. But it has voice coils like DDs do.

Thatā€™s what the company told me as well.

Love the Uniti Atom HPE.

@shuoer Thanks :+1:

Surprised, never seen a chifi IEM review from Androidcentral before.

Just finished the full ShortBus modā€¦holy cow, the filter change turns them into BASS CANONSā€¦ a little too dark for me but removing the nozzle restriction brightens things back up.

One of the best IEM deals I ever scored: $84 USD.

Hello there ladies and gents I have a question I hope one of you awesome people could help me with. I own a Z12 set and I want to try and eq them to a tuning like the Kai or the Mele (or if even possible the Mahina). Could anyone help lead me in the right direction to do this?

Hey Dave - have you tried to use Squig.link and the equalizer function? Itā€™s a fantastic tool to play around with. Give it a shot. If you choose the Z12ā€™s graph first and then then whatever other IEM to EQ it to, it will give you PEQ values to apply in your app or device of choice.

Thanks Dom!
I need to drop the reference target to flat to get the normal squig comparison Iā€™m guessing?

Thanks man, now Iā€™m just trying how to figure out how to translate that to my 10 band eq on my Walkman lol

Any time, Dave! Looks like Riku took care of your question. Any luck with the EQ? I remember one night I got so sucked in, I spent an hour and a half finding just the right EQ for the OH10  definitely worth it :sunglasses:

Also PS. Iā€™d try to utilize the EQ below 6-7Hz. EQā€™ing the treble area is fairly pointless considering most couplers arenā€™t accurate above there anyways. I would play around with it, but I wouldnā€™t try to copy it exactly.

But let us know how you make out! Iā€™m just not familiar with the Sony software, or else Iā€™d dive int there for you!

While I have been able to somewhat figure out squiglink Iā€™m not there enough to apply things correctly yet like utilizing EQ below 6-7Hz and such lol
With my Walkman thid is what Iā€™m working with, maybe you can tell me what I should be typing in and such?

So, Iā€™m not familiar with the Walkman software tbh. Do you have access to Q values?

Like this:

On the BTR7, I have the ability to choose the specific Hz, gain and Q value (which determines whether the effect to that specific Hz is more of a peak or shelf-like).

Do you have something similar, or?

I just have the equalizer to work with, so no to the Q values. nymz was able to help me with getting my Kinda Lava EQā€™d to a Mahina type level, and I have a picture maybe this will help?

I see. Without Q values, unfortunately to my knowledge thereā€™s no true way of getting the absolute correct EQ. Iā€™ll be happy to help you for sure get those values, though. Youā€™re trying to EQ the Z12 to Mele or Kai, correct?

Iā€™m just hoping to get close and then go from there, I suppose my main mission is to bump up the midbass a good bit properly so I can take a bit of the edge off the Z12 and get a better sense of atmosphere/immersiveness from the midbass at the same time unless Iā€™m wrong so I thought any of those three were a good place to start. Kai isnā€™t up on squiglink yet though just a heads up. So short answer is yes lol
