This unusual duo is really growing on me. I have loved Allison Krauss forever. But Robert’s new-found chops, for me anyway, is surprising and delightful all at once. I think I might buy this one. :+1:

Here’s a nice chill late night Euro- Jazz album…

Fantastic crowd. Beautiful, small venue. Amazing band. I wish Parcels nothing but success - one of my favorite musical acts in recent memory.

I’ve been Obsessed with Hozier’s “Wasteland, Baby” album lately. Especially ‘Shrike’.

One removal of the wax screens on my Serials… and it’s time to resume the usual installments of “What’s RBW listening to on his Serials”. Heck I don’t even think of these as a strictly “analog/laid back” set.

From 4:30 where the vocals are raw and a lot of layering comes together for the rest of the song… although it definitely sounds better not on YouTube… plenty of space, detail, texture, bass… I don’t hear a lack of treble vs. how the world always sounds.

Well I guess that started a rabbit trail…

Right from the start, great texture and punch in the kick, and the guitar comes on separately with full body. Vocals are forward as they should be, wouldn’t want it any more than this.

Love it. Low end things like bass guitar and drums feel like they each get their own speaker. Not in an incoherent way, just that the vibrations of one never mask the other, both tactile, both textured.

@JAnonymous5150 Nice. I am trying something different this evening from the United Progressive Fraternity. So far so good!

It’s fun to discover new stuff.

It’s actually morning over here, but I have my Drop+DCA Aeon Closed X plugged into the OG Lyr and Modi Multibit 2 stack being fed by my laptop and Qobuz.

Listening to some funky rock n’ roll in the form of an album name Creation’s Finest by Mother’s Cake. Highly recommended!

One of the things I love about traveling around Europe with someone else doing the driving is that we can turn it into a lovely mobile beer tasting tour. Each country has its own creative and delicious twists on what makes the best beer. You get pilsners, lagers, stouts, ales, etc and the locals are generally only too happy to point you to sime of their best local brews as a point of pride. A well stocked mini fridge and a nice backup cooler along with great head gear for awesome listening sessions turns what might otherwise be boring travel days into a whole lotta fun. :beers:

Current signal chain is the Hifiman HE560 V1s plugged into my OG Schiit Lyr (with 6N1P Voskhod Rockets) and the Modi Multibit 2 which continues to impress and surprise. I made this point on head-fi and I’ll make it here: The MMB2 isn’t just a great DAC for the money, it’s a great DAC. Period.

For music I have another great album from 2022 up entitled Born by the band Birth (I see what they did there). This album takes some cues from psychedelic and classic rock acts like Led Zeppelin and The Doors while sprinkling in some prog and hard rock influences along the way. This all makes for great music and is well executed by the band. They don’t sound like a band trying to imitate various classic rock legends like so many of their contemporaries that try this kinda sound do. Instead, they sound very much like their own band, with their own songs, inspired, dynamic, and engaging. Highly recommended?

P.S. The production quality is quite good as well which, thankfully, seems to be becoming more common.

This song fairly loudly through Serials, Dunu S&S tips, don’t know anything that sounds quite this way.

The perfect bass hits a little after 1:30, with the synth notes still searing and crisp at the same time.

Listening to my collection of Weather Report vinyl albums this afternoon…
