Listening with the TRI HBB Kai through the Topping DX3 Pro+.
This is a fun album. Nice instrumentation. Different themes coming from all different directions. Nice dynamics between instruments.

Today I have been going through my Stanley Turrentine collection. Probably my second time through the whole set and I am pretty impressed.
I was also surprised to hear the strong organ work on Dearly Beloved. I wondered if it was Jimmy Smith? It turns out it was Shirley Scott, also known as âQueen of the Organâ. I have to check out more of her stuff.
I had never heard of Stanley Turrentine before buying this ridiculously cheap set on Amazon. Definitely a great purchase, if you are a fan of horn jazz and a little bit of organ!
Listening on my new AKG K553 mk2
Revisiting this. Kinda wish I could find the live recording on vinyl. Would be interesting to see how it plays.
Starting my day with Two Feet. I have 42 songs spanning several albums. Two hours and five minutes of his unique sound.
I have been cycling through my Focals the last few days. Today is going to be all Radiance and so I am looking for some bass.
Friday, ahhhhhhhhhh! Starting the evening off with something, a little 'Eclectic"
I like the synergy between these two. Most enjoyable, it is. And we are offâŚ

Hifiman HE560 v1 into the Schiit Lyr and the Modi Multibit 2.
Listening to Thank You Scientistâs 2016 album, Stranger Heads Prevail. These guys play a pretty eclectic mix of musical styles. Youâve got violin, sax, and trumpet rippinâ along with a very good rhythm section that can really play and a vocalist who can be a bit dramatic, but can also really sing. Good stuff!
Love Haken, especially that album.
After checking out your recâs I started listening to some Distorted Harmony. Currently listening to their 2012 release, Utopia. I tend to dislike prog-metal stuff once it goes too far towards metal and loses some of the rhythmic and exploratory aspects of the more progressive styles. These guys so far are quite good, though. They do a lot of dynamic and time signature changes with plenty of variety and musical flourishes to keep it interesting. Thanks for bringing them to my attention. Iâm gonna have to buy their albums off Bandcamp for download.
Current rig: Drop+DCA Aeon Closed X plugged into Schiit Lyr with the Modi Multibit 2 decoding all the bits from my laptop/Qobuz.
Edit: The highlight of this album for me in the fourth track entitle âBlue.â The guitarist really lays down so rediculous fretwork, the drummer shows some very good skill in accenting the melody from behind, making his presence felt, but not taking over, and the lyrics and vocalist are auite well done. I immediately added it to my favorite songs on Qobuz.
Well, I turned 62 today. How 'bout that. Had a nice, chill day. Hung out with my favorite life form in the Universe (that would be my lovely Wife!) and consumed some Maine Lobster at a local eatery. Canât remember when I had Lobster last. A wonderful day for sure. And now, with desert done, itâs time for a session! Got a nice 2019 Ridge Pagani Ranch Zin going,
fake fireplace is on⌠and here we go! An interesting, if not themed selection to start this eveningâs festivities.
