Looking for bassy headphones for listening (mainly) to EDM - have a few candidates and a budget of around 150€

The Noir from Drop is another option if you can get them in the EU.

If you wanna go AudioTechnica, I’d suggest the m40x rather then the 50 with a pad swap to something like angled oval pads from ZMF (I’ve got the sheepskins, though others like the cowhide)

Can’t get anything from Drop in EU easily. Could only import from the US. Already ordered the DT770 250ohm

Well, yeah. We are talking about minor difference, but a lot of audiophiles describe even a small difference as a big one

Got my DT770 250ohm today.
The treble is rather harsh and can be sibilant. Think it’s improving a bit tho as I listen. Maybe it’s the driver burning in or my ears getting used to it. However, when EQed (using Peace) to counter that peak a bit, it’s just superb. It’s lot more punchy than the DT880, but less detailed (maybe for good). The bass is enough for me and the sub-bass, wow, best I heard from any headphone. Kinda surprised by the rather wide soundstage which IMO is similar to the semi-open DT880.
Can amp it really well. Just a bit over half volume on the amp and it’s plenty loud.

Comfort is very similar as the DT880, just more clamp, which is fine by me.
Happy with the decision.
Thanks for helping me decide.

The EQ really did the trick. I thought it would be unbearable, because I listen to some tracks which can be considered as harsh / sibilant by themselves and the DT770 of course just amplified that. With the Peace software, I can just overlay the frequency response graph and tune the EQ accordingly, solving the issue.
