Well the Asgard is 300 with the dac integrated and will push 300mw into your 600 ohms. The element is 400 and will push 165mw into them.
Yeah that is a possibility as well.
They both have really low noise floors.
But yeah as M0N Said you could revert to using the xduoo as a dac and just get a new amp. But I’m not sure if you’re too far in the hole money wise lol. You’d be looking at at least 150-200 for a decent stand alone amp I’d say.
I did just get my tax return so I guess it’s time to get into this whole boogaloo.
Uh oh! lol. Which route did you wanna go then? Return xduoo and new amp/dac combo or just a new amp and xduoo as dac?
If I were you, For portability I’d probably want something more portable and simple like a btr5 or something, although that would struggle with your 600ohm beasts lol. The highest ohm headphones I even own are 300 ohm.
I’d keep the xduoo if I knew how to use it with another amp to my goxlr if it’s not possible to have connectivity across them then I’d rather just get something else. I also found out what I was talking about is IEMs planned on getting those later on to use with the xduoo.
So what signal chain are you looking for? The xduoo has a line out on the back, so you can connect it to an amp like the magni heresy or the Asgard 3. How do you want to incorporate the goxlr?
The goxlr is hooked up to my pc then I use it’s headphone out to the xduo aux out/in currently. If I get the asgard 3 for example and hook it up to that line out how do I get audio from the xlr?
Wait so you aren’t using USB in on the xduoo? Have you used that?
I have with the drivers and everything.
Gotcha, do you notice a volume or quality difference with USB compared to using the goxlr?
Nope they’re practically the same just I lose the channels from my mixer.
Gotcha, then honestly you could return the xduoo, grab an Asgard 3 and run it from the goxlr, and also pick up a fiio btr5 or ifi hip dac for iem usage perhaps
Asgard 3 would definitely be my pick as well. Massive power and great sound for the price.
Agreed. I mean I haven’t heard it but I love my jot still and I’ve heard that the Asgard is just a better version of it minus the balanced in/out
The dac in it is integrated just like the xduoo?
For the Asgard 3? You can get it without a dac chip for 200, or with akm chip for 300, or a multibit dac chip for 400
Yep I’m getting it with the ak4490 in it. Then I’m going to test side by side. I’m kinda wondering if I should get another set of cans to test across the two of them.
You could get a nice planar if you wanted to test power, or get a more refined easy to drive to test finesse
