Honestly if it were me, I’d just stick with the p6p and beef up headphone wise instead and opt for a portable amp later on, since I hear the ti is more a beef up on the amp side of things than on the dac when it comes to the lp6 vs ti. Also I hear the ti is a more brighter and analytical sound sig which will come down to preference
What i realy want to hear is impressions of LP6 Ti vs P6P LO. Thats realy truly what I want given I do use LO on it so damn often. Plus, I’m just dead currious which one has a better dac
And yes. Better cans is 100% the better move (and the one I recomend to others who are spending like 1k+ on sources and have midfi cans, lol), but im not realy this deep into the hoby due to logic, so…
From what I hear the ti isn’t going to give much improvement over the regular lp6 when used for line out, which might make it somewhat equal with the p6p based on what I’ve heard
I was under the impression the ti was a significant step up from the lp6 dac wise due to moving to quad chips. At least the way LP promotes it themselves they realy like to bring up the dac output being 32x whatever bench mark chip they use for everything while the LP6 and P6P are 16x (and i cant find the comment, but I’m fairly sure they say the p6p is more capable than the lp6)
I mean that’s playing the numbers game which isn’t really going to tell you much imo, I would really have to hear it myself to say anything confidently, otherwise I can only relay info from the friend who has them. Lemme ask him and get back to you for more recent impressions since those mentioned above were what I recall him saying earlier on
Oh, 100% numbers kinda dont matter past a certain requisite level. I just like LPs tuning fo the P6P so a product they personaly market to be at a higher level than the P6P has me currious
@eskamobob1 going to go hear the cayin tomorrow, also pick up a few other goodies like a mass kobo 424 (finally I can get close to the sound of my 394 ii on the go lol), will let you know how things go
Most likely cans I bring around at times, so utopia, diana v2, mysphere, and other headphones that the guy has (which is a fairly significant selection)
Quality of power, yes it will have a different signature, but it’s all about the quality of power
When you talk quality o power, yoy mean increasing resolution/texture/stage dynamics of a dap? Tbh i kind of assumed yiu would be hard pressed to surpass totl dap amp stages in the portable world
Edit: also, diana is a big question for me…want to get a set, but I need to figure out how to run them since I’m portable only
Lol. Fair. I guess in that case, in your experience, what is the best portable amp for diana? I’m real happy with my mests right now so no need to modify my chain there but I realy want to try diana but I need to figure out how to power them. I had assumed going for raw power would be the better option since they are kind of demanding, but maybe not?
Less fox is cheap enough I can justify trying one. Tbh, the online impressions of the bx2+ seem kinda suspiciously positive (c9 too) to the point that I’m wondering if a lot of it is just new toy syndrome. Add onto that the fact taht the only 2 people I know taht have had one were kinda underwhelmed by it and I wasn’t super cure what to think about it anymore.
They are indeed. I was able to grab one when a friend suggested one to me before I had seen anything online about it, but seeing what’s out there now, there are some comments that have greatly overstated it’s capabilities imo
It really depends on the headphone tbh, the bx2 does generally add more bass control and impact, a wider stage generally while maintaining depth and placement, and does shift tonality towards a bit more neutral clean with most things, but at the cost of a bit of organicness in presentation, timbre performance slightly, and tonal density. Generally with most iems I don’t know if it’s worthwhile, on things like my infinity I liked the internal more, the mmr thummin was a wash as it had it’s ups and downs for bx2+ vs stock, and with something like the eamt-1c it did help when it came to overall control so that was worth over stock amp imo. So for iems it’s most likely not worth it in, but for headphones it’s a different story imo, but again it depends on the headphones
