Yeah I get that, just saying for most people thought it’s really not something to worry about

Edit: it’s also pretty easy to become a full fledged member too

I don’t even understand the ranking systems on this website

@M0N linked to the Trust Level guide earlier, it is quite easy to understand.

Z could give padges to Patreons. Special or VIP members.
Level of Patreon the cooler badge or status in here.

This reminds me of a question I had pop in my mind a while ago, how does it work with having both a discord server for patrons and a separate forum?

Sounds like it’s just keeping communities segregated.
I don’t mind/care the paid chat access, I actually like the idea, I just think it’s impossible to successfully manage multiple communities across at least 3 platforms - youtube, patreon/discord, forum.

I’m not a core figure in any community and struggle to keep up with even 1.

Hey @ZeosPantera do you plan to merge patron chat with this forum at some point? What’s the longterm plan with this forum? Just curious, no pressure.

Aren’t the platforms completely different though? The patron chat is a Zeos fanclub, and this forum is a public hifi audio community, not a fanclub. There is no bar for entry of whether you know who the creator of the forum is or not. Shouldn’t they be different things? I don’t see how or why they would be merged or what the point would be.

And giving badges to people that give Zeos money is just obnoxious.

Yeah, as Zaphain said… the Patreon chat is more specifically for Zeo’s community and his followers. This is meant to be more of a general forum to get advice, feedback, discussion about audio gear started by both DMS and Zeos. But I don’t think it’s really meant to focus or revolve around either of them the way their own private communities would be.

I don’t know, I don’t think someone would be paying for a forum and its hosting just for the sake of having a community. Reddit is already there, free, people already know about it(the zreviews sub), and it’s a proven platform for communities.

Then there’s the time investment to actually deploy something like Discourse.

I may be wrong, but I think there’s a bigger plan.

I don’t think people should get a special badge or something if they are a Patreon tbh (personally)

This isn’t Z Guides or DMS Guides or something, and I’m pretty sure if people are a Patreon they are looking for input primarily from z or dms, so I don’t know if it would really make sense here tbh

Could be a backup plan, as if something happenes to their YouTube they have something to fall back on

I personally participated here over the discord server. This is slower and I don’t have to keep up as much and I can just chill and read, while the discord server has its own regulars that just meme with each other. Which I’m ok with just hard to join

I can kinda agree with that. It’s good to have some variety and not really highlight people for a certain aspect or whatnot

Like hifiguides.com :stuck_out_tongue:
Dead serious I spend so much time here I often forget where to get my infos and I’m like “we need a list for”… and then I wake up and realize, well fuck me, there’s hifiguides.com obviously.

wtf is hifiguides.com… wut?

Wait seriously you have never known that??? It was here before the forum lol

no, not seriously… lmao. I knew of it.
But to be hoenst… it’s just a gateway for me with that little ‘forum’ button in the corner… i have touched it once… but these forums are way better.

I mean it’s a list of headphones that’s kinda helpful I guess but TBH I don’t think it’s that great in it’s current state. I would say it gives you something to look at but I don’t think it would help someone make a decision or anything

I think they still consider it an early work in progress. I can imagine it’ll change drastically and improve over time.
