Making the best headphones Bluetooth by adding only the fiio btr5 or similar plug in small Bluetooth receiver

I see.
So the 177x for a single end if there’s a way to make a custom adapter or cable could be good?

Yes, you could prob whip up a short custom cable and it would work just fine imo. Same with the other headphones I mentioned on here as well. You would just want a short mini xlr (I think it’s a 4 pin but I can’t recall) to 2.5mm bal to take advantage of the balanced mode of the btr5 (because the 177x go can be run balanced where the 1770 cannot, but the 1770 isn’t that great anyway since it was let down buy it’s tuning)

That was a suggestion, but OP is looking for something high end under $1000 budget.

I just found this persons solution to dual inputs

Yeah that works just fine, just don’t know if you wanted to do it that way

It is a bit beyond me to make that cable at the moment, but just was doing some side research as I was looking up all the headphones that you and others have suggested. What about he NDH 20 you suggested. Seems like if there was a way to get a 2.5mm adaptor it would work with the bluetooth receiver? What do you think?

Well with the ndh20 it’s not internally balanced (so you cant use the 2.5mm and would just need a 3.5mm stereo to the ndh20 connector

I’m not sure I follow since I don’t know the difference of balanced and unbalanced in regard to cables, however it seems that plugging the fiio Btr5 straight into the ndh20 will not work (does that mean it will not be stereo or will it just not work in general?)

The connecter on the ndh20 is wired differently I believe, so you would need a custom cable. Just saying that you can’t use the ndh20 balanced

Wow! With that design, you could get the Aeon 2 Closed! Those would be amazing!

Do you think that the Aeon 2 are better than the Audeze LCD-2 Closed Back ?

Imo yeah for sure. The 2 closed has its issues tbh. Also the aeon 2 is more portable and comfortable imo

Found another person who is doing this set up with another set of headphones with a an orange custom cable. Very intriguing, however I am starting to realize that many of these headphones have unique cable inputs.

Yes, you would have to figure out which headphones you go with and what cables they use

So, Aeon 2 > Audeze LCD-2 Closed Back. What about the Aeon 2 vs. DROP + MRSPEAKERS ETHER CX CLOSED HEADPHONES

I also prefer the aeon 2 at this point and will be selling my ether c flow 1.1 for the aeon 2 closed

Thanks. And the Aeon 2 is much better than the original Aeon? I see a price difference of $200
