I remember my first Iem the Blon . The fit was not good and getting a proper seal hard. The point well taken if you do not get a seal you have little idea what your iems sound like.My ear always is a but unfirtable when inserting and getting a seal. Now if there was a place one could go to try out iems like you could speakers and systems in the old days!
Welp, this thread 100% proves anyone interested in enjoying IEMs should start small. Investing in some high quality aftermarket tips is essential right from the start. It’s probably even more important than the IEM itself.
There also needs to be far better fit/seal education.
Unfortunately it is far more profitable to sell $300 cables that “magically” make the sound better, then education about tip fitment.
Fully agree, to make things worse the absolute majority of tips included in IEMs are garbage, even an experienced user may find it difficult to get a proper seal with those, there are rare exceptions.
I too consider the Spinfits the very best for beginners, because of its material it is super easy to get a seal, even if you are not using the perfect size for your ears, then after you realize how it should feel and how it should sound you can fine tune sizes and try other brands.
This. People believe cables change sound and tips dont. When its the other way around (99% of the times)
Always a good idea to get multiple sizes of the same tip because if you’re like me the fit can vary per day like some days ML will be perfect and some others I have to go down to M to not get sore.
Wish some tips like spinfit/azla sednas had a multi size buying option because trial and error is a pain
OMG, it’s nice to hear someone else say it. I swear my ear cavity swells and shrinks. Some days I’ll have no fit/seal issues and the next day, I can’t get a seal and the IEMs are falling out of my ears. You are not alone.
Took a bunch of new photos of my Mangird Tea to share. Who doesn’t enjoy photos?
Closer??? I don’t know if my macro will allow it but I can try.
No. My macro is not as good as yours. I’ll try though. I’m always blown away by how much detail you get from yours.
Vaguely related, my copy of Don Komarechka’s Macro Photography book just arrived in the mail yesterday and I’m excited to learn some macro stuff in the near future:
(I originally pre-ordered on Dom’s personal website, but I think you can only get it through major retailers now that it’s actually out.)
wow, arent there like…forums for photography like our audio forum? Or hell, even youtube exists.
Yeah, it’s true. But I dunno, I like books and it’s nice having a bunch of knowledge all in one easy-to-reference place. Your mileage and wallet may vary, of course.
Blon bl03 needs cable replacement
At the moment, I own a 30mm macro lens (on a mft camera, so 60mm equiv for full-frame) and I own some extension tubes, but I actually haven’t worked on taking any IEM macro photos! I should probably give it a try!
Definitely try it. My macro pics are taken with just the LG G7 + macro lens adapter (7 usd lol)
