šŸ”¶ Mangird TEA (6 BA/1DD)

In your opinions, thereā€™s anything better than Teas if I want to upgrade from Arias around this price range ($250-$300)? I listen rock and metal at least 60%-70% of the time, the rest of it, Iā€™m listening acoustic music with a lot of guitars, some indie, some lofi. I almost never listen to hip-hop or rap, and I would say almost my entire library is male vocals (very few songs with female vocals).

If itā€™s worth, I really like my Arias, but I just want to upgrade to something more ā€œendgameā€ for me (I donā€™t see myself spending more than $300 in iems/headphones anytime soon).

Any other recomendations?

Teas or Tanchjim Oxygen, for sure.

Blessing 2?

They are, like, really big donā€™t they? I have no chance to try them beforehand and my ears are not that big, so I just want to go for a safer option

Terrible fit, horrible timbre. For accoustical and guitar Iā€™d pick O2, then Teas.

Dusk your coming from Moondrop tuning. I would think O 2 and Falcon Pro are considerations also. Who knows you might like Mele better. Teas I am quite sure are good but you have many choices take your time deciding,HBB said there is an Iem with the sound quality of Teas and Tea price at least wait for this!

Guysā€¦ He said accoustic and guitarsā€¦

@Rikudou_Goku what would you pick for it?

well, Oxygen is defnitely a candidate. I cant comment on the Falcon Pro nor the Timeless yet, but they might be candidates.

Based on guitars being one of the things that hit me more than anything else during some recent time with them, Iā€™m tempted to recommend the JVC FDX1, Iā€™m a huge fan of it especially at its used price point. Timbre is phenomenal.

Caveats that might make it a tricky rec: Unusual fitting for some (took me a while to find what worked even), and treble can be fatiguing, even with the half-dampened filter.

Found which user this was for, and theyā€™re treble sensitive. Thatā€™s the end of that, then!

I have a confession to make here in the Mangird Tea discussion. So as I mentioned I loved the way the Teas fit. But I felt the sound didnā€™t have the punch and presence I wanted. It sounded kind of boring to me. I liked the way the Honeydews sounded better, and almost just went back to them, but I was too seduced by the notion of another IEM with the fit of the Teas. So I bought the Blessing 2. And they fit almost as well as the Teas. Granted I clearly have weird earsā€“the Arias didnā€™t fit well for me at all, for example. And I love the sound. I donā€™t know why you think they have bad timbre, but then I donā€™t listen to a huge amount of acoustic music (even most of the Jazz I listen to is electric).

So yeah, I like the sound of the Blessing 2 better than the Teas, and the fit is amazing for me. Make of that what you will, I think Iā€™ve found my endgame IEM.

Donā€™t think there can be any wrong subjective preferences in this hobby mate. Like what you like as no one can sway your hearing :+1:t5:

Youā€™re missinterpreting what I said. Blessing2 is a great IEM. Probably the most resolving one for the price. Thereā€™s a reason why itā€™s recā€™d all over Internet!

Every IEM has its flaws. B2 itā€™s its timbre and fit. You have to abstract from what you finder ā€œbetterā€ and try to meet a persons library. When someone says his focus is accoustics and guitars, with low treble, you cant think of something like b2.

Iā€™d think like that if someone said ā€œI like close to neutral tunnings and detailā€. Then b2 would make the best rec.

Thereā€™s no better between iems that are great on something on a price bracket.

Im very happy that b2 fit you and you found your endgame

I think I saw you talking about receiving the Falcon pros on headfi. How they holding up against the Oxygen, tea, etc?

Will find out in a few days.

Totally fair.

At this point Iā€™m not even sure how my preferences necessarily compare to how audio products are described and reviewed. By descriptions, I thought I would like the Tea better than the B2, but I donā€™t. I thought from descriptions I would like the Sundara better than the HD660S, but I donā€™t. Guess it just goes to show in the end you can only go by your own ears.

Yes. Mine is subjective. You have to trust your ears. Graphs are useful when you have experience with multiple IEMs.

About the 300 bracket, this just came up

Just got my B2D in. Impressions here Moondrop in-ear monitors Impressions Thread | Page 674 | Headphone Reviews and Discussion - Head-Fi.org

Iā€™m wondering if Iā€™d like the Tea more or something like the Oxygen or Timeless 7hz going from the dusk and starfields. Thereā€™s also the falcon pro to consider too now that some people have their hands in them. I have my Kato still on order so Iā€™ll find out if I like those soonish I guess but if anyone is convincing enough maybe I cancel the order for something else. Someone did put up a YouTube review of the KATO but it didnā€™t make any sense to me lmao

Judging by your description on that post, Mangird Tea.

I should get a copy paste by now :joy:

In addition, many audiophiles appreciate more bass than what the Blessing 2 delivers.

The Blessing 2 graph looks quite bass anemic, but to me, it sounds better than the graph looks.

Now that Iā€™ve found the Spinfit CP155, all my Moondrop hybrids fit like a glove.

I still prefer the Tea to the Blessing 2, but both I feel are fantastic IEMs that punch far above their price points and have both become legendary.
