šŸ”¶ Mangird XENNS UP

Have you tried the FH3? They graph somewhat similarly from the mids down I think. And less expensive as well. Beryllium too.

I’m afraid they are nothing alike. Xenns has special sauce on it.

Also...

I fucking hate FH3. Was my first IEM. HELL NO. Sold it with a loss, but I’m glad it’s gone. Sorry.

There is no way to compare the two IEMs!

You should buy them. You have my review somewhere, they are VERY fun to listen to

Already on my constantly changing short list… :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

There is a lot of difference in the mid frequencies! That’s where the main difference comes from. The technical parameters are also not the same !!!

Anyone tried the Xenns Up with high quality pure silver cable?

Should work to cut through the bass layers and bring the treble up some.

Tips will have more influence on sound than cables

I did. Zero difference.

What cable did you use specifically if I may ask?

A pure silver one from Xinhs.

My Mangird Tea stock cable was busted, so I wanted to check if UP’s stock was the same. Got no difference at all. UP stock is pretty damn good for a stock cable, minus the 2.5mm for me (and the need to adapters included). I reviewed stock, of course.

Gotcha. I read some bloke found great difference between cheap silver cable and a $300 silver cable for his ISN EST50 IEM. Wonder if it’s the same deal here with the Xenns Up…

Don’t know how to say this without sounding salty, but differences in cables = measurable but inaudible in more than most cases. Swap the cables for the look or the feel, absolutely, but not the sound

That’s not being salty, that’s being smart

I don’t believe in cables until I’m proven wrong. I keep my mind open, but so far, nope.

I’m quite optimistic about cables. For example the stock silver cable that came along with the Nighthawk headphone sounded really great compared with the aftermarket copper one I had to replace it with due to breakage.

Something was noticeably off with the new cable and I could never enjoy the Nighthawks the same way after that.

Eehmmm… Which aftermarket cable was that so we can avoid?

A generic ~$100 copper cable from AliExpress.
I wasn’t a cable believer until that thing ā€œgracedā€ my Nighthawks and by extension my ears.

Things got real murky and lost that nice 3D spatiality it is capable of.
It snapped after a month as well.

Is XENNS UP a good complementary set for my MOONDROP Variations? If so I have found my Christmas purchase

Yes! Opposites/complimentaries, IMO. You can find my comparition of the two in my reviews.
