Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee Headphones

Yes, as long as you have a balanced cable for your headphones, you can take advantage of your balanced out. You have the sendys right? Those came with a balanced 4.4 mm which you could get a 4.4 mm female to xlr male. You also should have gotten a balanced cable xlr with your elex

I got these for so cheap that I also bought a balanced cable for them. Just to give me more options.

i got mine now… i will say that i like the stock pads more than the dekoni pads… the stock sound mostly like my m50s so i dunno if its really an improvement but still. the dekoni velour pads sound too bassy, they start to blur the vocals

Honestly I really only like stock pads on Sennheisers, personally I don’t really suggest messing with non senn pads

the used seller had included dekoni pads for barely more than like 5 bucks from another person as well as that mod that puts a black foam in the center of the grill… dunno how to remove that

Thanks for the suggestion. i looked it up and found the 58X EQ and tuned it up on the APO EQ. sounds much better than the crappy Chrome EQ plugin preset i had running.

The only thing left for me to figure out now is which pads to roll. Been using the stock for about 6+ months (forgot when i bought these) but the comfort level is just not there for me.

I am looking for something that super comfortable, and add some bass punch. Any suggestions on brand and material type?

The EQ added a pleasant amount of bass, but i want MORE!
Also, if anyone here is a EQ wiz, i welcome any suggestions on how to tweak the EQ to make it better.

Here is the EQ i set. i mostly listen to EDM, Hard style, and rap.

The hybrids you can sometimes get on Drop (currently available for pre-order) are much more comfortable to me, while maintaining more of the stock sound. The sheepskin are comfy, but with the narrow soundstage, makes things too congested and ends up muddying the sound, imo. Haven’t tried the fenestrated.

Overall, the stock pads have the best sound to me, but currently have the hybrids on because of the increased comfort.

I am considering buying one. I have a kph30i now and I adore it, I just want something more comfortable with similar sound just better overall. I wear glasses tho, is the seal breaking a big issue with these cans?

these cans are initally pretty heavy on the clamp but get more comfy the more you wear it. the sound sig on this headphone is just as relaxed less bass quantity but better more lush mids and the treble is more relaxed. if you want to improve comofrt on your kph 30i without spending much I recommend picking up a set of porta pro yaxi pads
