Has anyone used them for casual single player games like witcher 3,rdr2,sekiro,god of war etc??

I actually just tried with mine, and wind they donā€™t like to stay on. My ears definitely get warmer then with the Dekoni sheepskins. Thereā€™s a definite roll off with the 1540s killing some of the bass extension, though it is a bit wider and less intimate, requiring just a touch more power (as in going up from 60 to 66 on a TA-10. Pulled out the tube just for comparison with this and my new Grados). The clamp is different. Itā€™s tight either way, the pressure is more distributed around the circumference with the Dekoni, where as I noticed with the 1540s it was more concentrated at the bottom around my jaw.

Can anyone compare these to the sv021?

Iā€™ll compare it once i get my SV021 though i did only find them in stock on Aliexpress so it will take a while, though Iā€™m guessing it will quite different (at least from the descriptions ivā€™e heard of the SV021).

but even if the sound isnt very different just the build itself is very different - for example, one of the biggest drawbacks is that the sv021 doesnā€™t have and horizontal adjustment (if you look in the review Zeos actually bends the metal band). also, the suspension strap on the 99s can be both a benefit or a drawback personally i like it, the fact that the pressure is distributed evenly and that it ā€œbouncesā€ on your head

That being said im assuming it terms of sound the SV021 will probably be ā€œbetterā€ but the my 99 Neo was never ā€œthe bestā€ at anything it was just a really fun headphone

My Update as 10/06/21
Got a Meze Noir used for $ 160.00 mint out of Ebay a few months ago.
I need bass but I like details, basically I want it all like most of us I think.
The unit came with the 2 stock pads, I tried both and it was a booming fest, I could hear the details of mids and highs but they were way in the background overpowered by the booming bass. That again I love but at to a certain pointā€¦
After many pads testing I settled for a Perforated Round Brainwartz (oval will work too, but too large to my taste)

Ok first improvement done, the perforated nature of the pads makes the headphone a little more open, leaking pressure out and so bass are still strong but less oppressive to the other frequencies. Now I can hear better!
Second improvements was the cable, I have Portable FIIO M11 Pro and Desktop IFI Zen Dac v2 both with balanced connections. The balanced 2.5 cable from Meze was good price (around $ 50.00) and good product but not a great improvement either.
I still needed more details to come out to me and I could hear there were there.
Tried the Silver coated balanced 4.4mm cable from Meze for $ 120.000 plus tax and I finally hear a difference. Bass is still punchy wide and powerfull but details of the mids and highs finally came thru to me. Finally happy. Just one problemā€¦ $ 120.00 plus tax cable for a Silver Coated (not Silver) cable? Returned.
Did some research and I found a good seller on Aliexpress were I got a 99% Pure Silver balanced cable 4.4mm (not Silver Coated) for $ 80.00 delivered. Brilliant soundwise and for my pokets. Now I am done, booming is gone and details are there.
My Meze Noir with perforated pleather pads and balanced 4.4mm silver cable are as good as they can get and I love them. They sit next to my Sundara and depending on some recording I actually enjoy the best.
I can finally focus on Music and not the gear. With these Meze Noir and Sundara I am ready to listen all I have from Miles Davis to Nirvana and all the funk in between.
I have quite a few iems too, but that`s another story, for full size headphones I am set.

Thinking of getting one of these, I listened to the Classics and took a liking to their sound. From my understanding the Neo is even warmer, but I canā€™t seem to find any info on the Noir which is a bit cheaper as well. Any idea?

Ive only had limited listening to the classics (i own the Neo), but from that i could tell the differences are rather minor. And once you pad swap the 99ā€™s (personally i recommend Brainwave hybrid), its a non-issue IMO

What are you listening with now? I like my neos but I canā€™t say Iā€™m in love with them.

Currently I use the Argon Mk3 on my PC setup as daily driver with the Corda PCStep and Iā€™d like to have a similar complimentary (or rather, similar sound signature) dynamic. Tried the DT1770 but it felt uncomfortable, doubt I can wear it for more than an hour. Been checking out the Hifiman R9 but supposedly it doesnā€™t have much isolation which is def. something Iā€™d want for this use case. Elegia wasnā€™t to my taste though there are Dekoni Stellia/Sheepskin options.

Comfort is definitely not an issue with 99s. Isolation is a bit tricky. In the office I can cover up people talking but say thereā€™s a low rumble from an AC unit or on a plane and it seems to get amplified in the cups.

The bass boost from outside noise and comfort was my experience using them briefly as well, thanks for the quick responses you two!

That white pair is beautiful. Super clean! Great find!
Iā€™ve had luck mixing, composing, and even DJing with these bad boys. I can imagine the inquisitive comments Iā€™d get if my buddies saw me wearing a white-out pair like that^.

I have a Copland DAC amp driving the Classics 99. Copland is a higher category than Meze, but a fantastic pairing. The headphone stand was recently made by WoodArtAudio. Super beautiful!
