My bad looked like an okay seller but I just noticed its subject to import fees too
Playing the long game when I’m p sure I’m going to be laid off at any minute is a risk to me. I keep reading reviews of stuff like the KZ ZSN or the KPH30i’s ending up decent for mixing, with the Retros being mostly good for mixing aswel. Keep in mind I’m not mastering these on headphones, that’s what speakers are for lol
Yeah I totally understand. But I’m just saying that those are not good for what you want to do as they exaggerate the low end like crazy, so you wouldn’t be getting an accurate representation of the music.
What speakers do you have, out of curiosity?
Some Vizio sound bar. Idrk as like I ain’t picky for speakers as I have for headphones. Came with a free month of tidal tho, didn’t pass that up that’s for sure
Sound bars aren’t great but I get that you just have to work with what you have as of now.
I mean I could go for a jank pair of by speakers lol. But my main concern is honestly the headphones and for what I can grab for the price.
Well the KCS75 you used to have are better for the application than both the KPH30i and the Monoprice. But you said they didn’t fit your head very well.
AKG K240 if you can find them for a good price would be the best option right now. Maybe ask some friends for help financially? I don’t know.
I actually meant the clip was uncomfortable. The portapros just felt abnormally small for me and that’s coming from someone with relatively small ears
I would gun for those, honestly, but with my mom complaining how I’m wasting money apparently just blows against my judgement half the time.
You can buy extra headbands that the KCS75 can attach to for about $5.
Maybe the Tascam TH-02 would work for your price range. They cost $20 but with the stock pads they are very uncomfortable. Still good for mixing.
Sony 7502 and Superlux HD668b (Samson SR850) are other budget options.
If you can extend your budget, the AKG K240 Studio is definitely your best bet.
Honestly comfort can suck it at my price range I just need good audio to made half asses midi tracks lol
Any good pad reccomendations for the TH-02, if I do decide to get em?
They are $19.99 on amazon right now. A lot of people do a pad change to Brainwavz Oval Protein Leather, but that didnt sound good to me as it increased the treble by a lot.
Any other that you’d use to keep the sound balenced as is?
That is tough with the tascam because of driver limitations, it can be hard to pad swap without changing the sound drastically. I personally thought that the Geekria Shure SRH840 Pads or the authentic Shure SRH840 pads sounded good. The brainwavz oval hybrid pads sounded decent as well.
Welp. What about IEMs for mixing, I hear alot of bad for doing that but considering how I’m probably going to postpone what I’m going to buy until my next paycheck, might as well hear from y’alls perspective on the best budget IEMs. (tbh I’m expecting alot of T2’s lol)
Mixing on iems is actually pretty viable, but imo you might have to spend a bit more on an iem that is really suited for mixing. That being said you can accomplish it on like a tin t2 for sure, that’s not a bad pick. Another great option would actually be the final e1000 which is actually well inside your budget so I would check those out personally
I agree. The final e lineup all are extremely comfortable and the e1000 would be pretty good for mixing.
The reason I say the 1000 is that imo it’s more neutral where the 2000 is more v shaped and 3000 is warmer, so personally for mixing my preference leans towards the 1000 (comparing the similarly priced final iems)
Yes, I agree. Personally I prefer the E3000 for enjoyment but the e1000 makes sense for mixing.
