Monoprice Retros vs. Koss KPH30i

Yeah the e3k is my favorite for just enjoyment as well imo

Hm. Should I get different tips to fit those ones?

Personally I like the stock tips and didn’t feel the need to change them tbh, but you can swap them out if you like

Let’s say on a whim I want to. I already got a pair of comply but I hear some other brands are far better, such as deconi. What’s your take on replacements?

So I mean, I think the comply vs dekoni is more preference, the dekoni are more quick rebound where the comply is more slow rebound, they both act similarly in terms of sound. Personally I don’t like foams because they make my ears itch and prefer the sound of silicone as well, but I don’t see an issue of putting comply on there, but it will change the sound and won’t be as neutral is my guess

Yea ngl I agree with your opinion on foam, I just hear people rave about them for IEMs.

I use the Final Audio E tips on my IEMs. They have had the best fit for my ears so far and come in many different sizes. But it looks like they already come with those stock so that is a great bonus.

The 2000 and 3000 came with 4 tips sizes (so I assume the 1000 will as well) and for me at least they fit perfectly and the iem itself is very lightweight… comfort is very good

Final Audio e series tips are actually my favorite. They go extremely well with my blon bl-03. They work well with my ikko oh1 as well.

Basically my main options are wait to get actual studio headphones or get a decent pair of IEMs

Pretty much yeah, I think at your budget iems would make more sense until you can grab something like the tried and true monitoring headphones

Makes me wonder why the finals aren’t on the actual guide. It says that the KZ ZSN Pro’s are the most “neutral”

I personally wouldn’t agree with this, but they would also be a solid pick

How so? I mean the guide is tied to these forums hence why I’m surprised I’m hearing them here and yet they ain’t on the actual buyers guide.

They are very v shaped iems. I wouldn’t call them neutral but for the price they are pretty good

The guide is not that great, and it rarely gets updated, and it has a few problems. I don’t really use it anymore.

Then you also might be surprised to find a fair amount of people on here that aren’t the biggest fans of z as well lol

Ironic lol. Good to finally interact instead of browsing reddit, watch YouTubers, and blogs without much context. But soundwise how would y’all divide the ZSN Pros and E1000?

So the zsn pro is as @RiceGuru mentioned somewhat vshaped and also detail forward (can get harsh at some times), so it does have pretty good technicalities for the price. The final e1000 is more neutral to the ear, with a more natural yet neutral sound. It’s not as immediately resolving as the zsn pro, but imo it isn’t lacking for the price either.

Okay but whatever else z’s failings may be, he sure knows how to get a good forum going lol
