If you want an affordable IEM with a slight V shape that is great for metal, the Ikko OH-1 are what you are looking for. I have a pair of them and I mainly use them when listening to metal…sound is ridiculously good considering the price. And I personally am not much of an IEM guy, but these are very nice.

Right on I’ll put them on the list (that now has 1 iem on it lol)

The LCD2.1 is a flavor can. From what I read, its mids are more luscious and thicker than the 2.2 and its bass has slightly more presence than the 2.2’s, but the treble is more recessed than the 2.2. I have a 2.1, and I definitely don’t think it is a good all-rounder, but it is really good with electronic and r&b music. Some people like them with Jazz, but the 2.1’s lack of treble energy is too noticeable to ignore in that genre.

Anyone buying used 2.1 and 2.2 pre-fazors are playing with dice with potential driver failure and/or driver variance. Audeze’s QC was pretty bad in those days. Then again, if the drivers lasted this long, there’s a good chance that they’ll continue to last so long as one’s careful handling and storing them.

I did not enjoy the LCD-2F I tried last year. Its soundstage width was really narrow while being supremely tall. It sounded weird to my ears, but the LCD-2F is better balanced than my LCD2.1 albeit having a drier sound.

I would agree with this, I was just saying that it most likely wouldn’t be up coconuts alley, but I do think it has a place for sure and someone looking for that special sound would like it (was just saying avoid for him)

If they are treated well then they should be just fine (but yes you do run a bit more risk)

This… it’s $200 above your budget but it’s heaven (IMO)… I love my X’s but if you force me to one choice it’s these:

another good option but you could do better on pricing many people love pre fazor LCD 2’s .

That’s a decent price, but it is different from the x (the 3)

Also that’s a pretty good price on the 2.2

Yep I like them to almost equally for different reasons.

I personally like the lcd 2.2 more than the 3 (I like the x and 3 about similar but slight edge to the x), but I can see the appeal for sure
