Yeah if you do a proper uninstall and reinstall the correct way that might fix the problem
I would go into enhancements and make sure if any are there you disable them, set the rate to 24/96, and set spatial sound to off
Any reason for 24/96 specifically? I just messed around with that and noticed that it does actually change the number displayed on my topping d10. It was on 32/44.1 for default.
So itās just a safe middleground that works. I would avoid 32 bit as it can cause problems with some applications and you will most likely never use it.
I do notice some crackling in a lot of songs. It isnāt constant but every once in a while it will crackle some and Iām beginning to think that isnāt part of the song.
Hmmmm. What does the crackle sound like? Thatās def not normal, and I donāt know if itās your dac, amp or headphones. Just to check, if you push in the headphones does it make the noise? The sendy driver types can have some driver crinkle that might sound like metal foil moving and it happens because it makes a seal on your head
Does it sound more electrical or inorganic? Does it happen with your headphone amp just plugged straight into your pc? Does it also happen with the headphones plugged straight into the pc?
It still happens when I play it just from my laptopās headphone output. Only way I can think to describe it, is it is similar to vinyl crackle, and no, the song shouldnāt have any vinyl crackle in it.
Also, what exactly do you mean by āJust to check, if you push in the headphones does it make the noise?ā.
Like if you take your headphones and put your hands on both sides, and lightly push on them, is there a crinkle?
If itās not that I wonder what it is if it still happens on your laptop, so you know itās not the dac or the amp at least
Nothing happens when I push it in. It could be that the song just has the crinkling in it, but Iām just not sure with how often it seems to occur throughout many songs.
Does it happen with other headphones? This might sound stupid but are you sick or not feeling well atm? Sometimes if you have something going on with your sinuses you can get crackles and pops from your ears at times, same thing if you have some buildup in your ears. Otherwise I think it just might be the music you listen to
Iām starting to think it actually is the music and not anything else. Iām going to just keep listening for now and report back later if I find anything out.
What do you think @M0N , driver crinkle or could it be noise from the source/chain?, or a possible resonance at a certain frequency?
Well he has tested and it doesnāt seem to be driver crinkle, it happens on multiple sources so it doesnāt seem to be the source chain. I wonder if there is either something wrong with the headphones or itās just more revealing to where it exposes some flaws in music. It seems pretty inconsistent, so perhaps he should track when it happens
I just noticed it is the Sivga P-IIā¦I think it may be a thing with the P-IIā¦ because I experience the faintest, most non offensive small pop/crinkles when i turn up the volume pretty loud. I think it is just the shape and material of the outer grill restricting some air from escaping, causing the membrane to become momentarily unsettled. It is faint, it only happens to me when the volume is like moderately loud or higher.
Interesting, that could be it. I havenāt experienced something like this on my sendy so far, but I donāt listen that loud
Yeah, when I say loud I mean pretty loud. On my SP200 on low gain with dial at 12 oclock or higher.
How can I accurately test how much noise, if any, is produced from my amp?
As in like noise floor? You could have the headphones plugged in but unplug the input and raise the volume until you hear hissing
