I’m pretty sure I didn’t know about the Sivga P-II when I ordered the blon.
Oops. Well they sound very close. thing is the Sivga sounds just like the Aiva and the Aiva sound just a hair better than the Blon B20. And the Sivga looks nicer in my opinion. and its 50$ cheaper. The Aiva started this whole thing. Can you send the Blon back?
There really isn’t going to be that large of a difference where it would be worthwhile imo
Yeah its true. I AB tested the Aiva with the Blon and i could hear a small difference in SQ. slight
This is an interesting shape/design. https://www.headphones.com/products/astell-kern-acro-l1000-headphone-amplifier-dac?variant=16051103694919&utm_source=criteo&utm_medium=retargeting&utm_campaign=lowerfunnel
I’m going to just stick with my blon.
I literally just saw that yesterday. It’s very interesting looking for sure! I almost wanted it for the design alone.
I watched dms’s video of the drop thx panda and at the end he said he picked up a pair of air pods and air pods pro to review from an audiophile perspective. I’ll be interested to see what he says.
I’ve been meaning to ask, is there anything I can do to make the headband not so squeaky? Whenever it adjusts up or down it makes a somewhat squeaking noise that is really loud and noticeable.
Depending on the material but using some lubricant like wd40 or grease works well, but it would depend on the headphones
silicon spray what leaves a dry/invisible residue would work well
I use silicon based lubricant on my 7XX, just don’t go overboard a little goes a long way, and you have to let it work into the joint that’s problematic.
I see this amp around a lot. anyone heard it?
I finally got around to going to https://www.audiocheck.net/soundtests_headphones.php to make sure nothing seems out of place. All seems well and fine but now I’m curious about something. I remember using this https://www.szynalski.com/tone-generator/ to just mess around with in the past, and when I went to that other site to make sure everything checked out, I could hear hear really low bass frequencies, or at least I’m thinking I did. I don’t hear anything right away when I click it, but shortly before it says 20 hz, I start hearing a low rumble. The human range is 20-20k, but on the tone generator, I can hear noise down to about 12 hz faintly. At 19 hz, just one below the human threshold, I can clearly hear something when I unpause it. It’s just a deep rumble I hear. Am I really hearing below 20 hz, or is what I’m hearing something else perhaps? I’m just confused about whether I’m really hearing below 20 hz or not.
I just noticed that if I rapidly change the volume on my laptop for what is labeled as “Speakers (TOPPING USB DAC)” while something is playing, I can hear a crackling noise coming through the headphones. It isn’t super loud, but it’s there. Also, it isn’t an issue, but just something I thought I’d point out.
When I go up in the range, I can faintly hear a noise up to around 19,400 hz.
That’s most likely just the driver trying to recreate that frequency, you are just hearing the mechanical motion typically.
The human hearing range is just a general estimation, there are many that can go past that range or have less of a range. I myself can hear to almost 23khz, and my family also has excellent hearing (so it’s most likely genetic in this case)
Your hearing range will change depending on your age, exposure to noise, and anything that can affect your ears like some sickness or pressure or whatnot. Think of hearing on a skewed right graph.
Admittedly if you want a reliable hearing test you need to go to a real audiologist to get accurate results
Did you install the drivers properly? If you don’t have drivers installed when you play or pause you might notice a crackle or pop
I’m not entirely sure whether I’m noticing anything out of place when I play and pause, but I can’t say that I necessarily installed them correctly, I think I did, but I won’t say I’m 100% sure.
Wouldn’t hurt to try reinstalling them I don’t imagine.
