The daily has 324000 miles and still going strong

nowhere near that right now lol, sitting at around 60k miles, but has not given me any real problems, I believe it would probably be able to hit that

Yeah, I think that is fair to say. =)

Yeah, personally, I can see why someone would pick them as a favorite and/or “endgame”. Along with their tonality, they have the type of punch, impact and control in the low-end that you can only really get with a good sealed headphone design, I think.

I actually think that you can get better control with an open back design, but that’s just me. Also some open backs can just slam too like large planars

If I compare them directly to the Elex, the low end definitely has more more forward impact, but it doesn’t get out of control or very bloomy. When I was comparing them before, the LCD2C definitely felt more bloomy, but with less punch/impact to my ears as well. Those are just my personal observations.
I think it’s definitely easier to lose control of the low-end in a closed back, but the Neumanns have a good seal and acoustics.

Sennheiser is pushing this headphone really hard in the studio market. At the AES convention there must have been 20-30 pairs out on the show floor at different booths. NDH20 might be the high end studio go to soon.

Yeah not nocking the ndh20 lol, just saying that imo good bass is easier done in an open back

For sure, I get what you are saying =)

Hey any thoughts or comparisons between them?

Proud NDH20 owner here
I only have one small complaint -actually I have two small complaints but one will do for now. I can’t stand either of the stock cables. Does anyone have any hot tips on alternatives? Something lighter and shorter would be a good start. Any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers.

The new z unboxing has something involving getting an alt cable for the ndh20 according to the description

I’ve just received this cable to connect my ndh20 to my hiby R6pro in 4.4mm. Works great and cable is nice and short.

Have you connected headphones under 4.4 mm Balanced Output in R6 PRO?

Yes, the cable I bought is terminated in 4.4.

Ok, but NDH 20 are not really balanced inside. I have a Cowon Plenue D2 and I wonder if it is safe to connect the NDH 20 to a 2.5mm balanced output?

The only difference between this and a 3.5 cable is that you can benefit from the added power the balanced output of your dap offers. I don’t see why it wouldn’t be safe but I’m no expert. I let others correct me if I’m wrong.

Typically going from balanced and converting to single ended is fine, but from something single ended to balanced is typically not recommend and has the potential to cause damage. It also depends how the headphones and balanced amp is designed (also the cable too), so you could be fine (I mean it does work right?), but I have seen nasty things connecting a single ended to a balanced output
