"New set of cans crisis"

Goodday everyone,

This is my first post here. I joined this forums because to me, zeos is a legend in that he has helped my alot already!

Yet I seek more help since I really can’t see the trees through the woods or whatever that saying goes.

Alright so the problem I’m facing is that I have a neat little gaming set-up in my eyes. Yet I’d like to get myself a pair of headphones which have a bit more bass.

The current set-up I’m having, thanks to the recommendations of zeos is:

AudioTechnica MSR7
HM5 Pads
Sennheiser GSX1200
V-Moda BoomPro

The MSR7’s have been around quite a while now and while I really do like them! They should’ve had a bit more bass for my taste. I came to this conclusion while wearing them outside of the house which doesn’t happen often. ( Mostly on vacations )

Now I already came across lots of headphones through the headphone Reddit guide. But I really don’t know what to get. So could anyone help me out?

I have already tried the Sennheiser GSP500, but I can’t recommend those to anyone.

I’d go up to 170ish€ ( I live in Holland ) less is preferred.
First thing that comes to my mind are the
Philips Fidelio X2s.
Philips SHP9500
CM MH751
Audio Technica m40x / m60x
But I really don’t know how they hold up to the msr7

Something with a microfone would be nice since my boompros are breaking all the time but if the sound or comfort suffers. I’ll just keep buying boompros

Would be glad if anyone could help me out!

What about the cooler master mh751 or 752? Nice sound, great comfort, detachable mic, and under your budget?

Hello thanks for your reply, while I think I might like those I really don’t know if they’re any better than the MSR7’s…

Could try em

Personally I wouldn’t say any of those headphones you mentioned would be better than the MSR7s per se, just different.

Some pretty great headphones that I think are a step above might be the beyerdynamic dt880 250 or 600 ohm, or the Sennheiser hd58x

Alright!
Sad those won’t be able to fit a BoomPro mic as it seems.
I guess I’ll just have to try some headphones then. I’ll start with the mh751 yet I am confused as to why those aren’t featured in the Reddit guide

Also for reference sake the X2s are about 165 in Holland

You could get a modmic for the Beyer’s or Senns if you wanted to, but all in I don’t know how much it would cost where you live.

The Reddit guide is outdated imo

Is that the regular X2/27 or the X2HR?

I think it’s the HR versions let me.double check

Yes the HR is around that price point and the /27 are more expensive and rare to find here

Gotcha, was curious since the HR is around 130 USD and the x2/27 is around 160 USD. How much are the Beyer’s where you are at?

They’re around the 160ish+

What about the beyerdynamic CUSTOM Game? It has a built-in mic

Getting close to 200. Haha
Just looked up some Dutch reviews and I am having a feeling the mh751 gets to around the same bass levels as the msr7…

Off of memory, the mh751 has a bit more, but similar subbass performance. They have more of a warm tuning then the MSR7

Alright well I don’t want to overdo it but I think a bit warmer isn’t gonna do it. It’s just due to my music taste I’d like it to have a bit more punch. I generally listen to electronic music, Hardstyle.

And I love explosions in games.

Wait, can you get 1more triple driver headphones? The dt770 250 ohms are also good for that

Is that the h1707? It’s 160 here

That’s a v shaped headphone with great bass and good high end, but the mids are sucked out a bit

I’m gonna lookup a review on those 1more.
Dt770 is 120ish in NL but it doesn’t let me detach the wire
