Never!!! Lol kidding I’m sure I will… maybe… eventually
Your 4xx could really benefit from one in the future lol (but for the other headphones they should be pretty good with no amp)
I have the k240s already so before I even look at the others I’ll spend time with them.
nice. they are great cans and often overlooked these days.
Oh no! Don’t go broke!
how have you been liking the k240 so far?
First impressions are super positive… guitar distortion sounds great and drums sound near perfect to my ears. I like that I can always find the instrument I want to listen to easily (even bass guitar). I find the vocals are between the x2s and 9500s but leaning towards the x2s. A tad more forward would’ve been ideal. Not a fan of hip hip on them but the bass is excellent with rock and metal.
try some nujabes or lo fi hihop on the k240 to me sounds pretty damn great on them. really glad you like them though
Definitely will do. Pads are a bit sweaty and I ordered a shorter cable for them too. Minor details though. @RiceGuru
lol yeah pads were a bit of a problem for me too. I had a pair of akg k52 pads lying around and deconstructed the outer layer to reveal a nice cloth pad and thats what are on them now for me.
Nice lol I can deal with it as its not terrible.
Just curious though… have you tried any readily available pads with the k240s or is there a pad that’s known to work? @RiceGuru
I just kinda try pads that I have on hand beyerdynamic pads work if you can find them
I just found out my friend has dt770s (also hd650s) so maybe I’ll ask to borrow the pads.
Which ohm rating? Personally I hated the 80 ohm but liked the 250 ohm. The 250 was a little more balanced and the 80 was too sibilant. That’s just me though.
He didn’t mention which
Ah okay. I loved the 650/6xx. Very nice detail throughout and some nice warmth.
I’ll try to listen to both if given the opportunity… yeah the hd650s are mentioned everywhere I read and watch lol
The 58X seem like the better headphone tbh, the 650/6XX you might enjoy more if you like a warmer sound
I think the 600 or 650 are more detailed and refined, with better timbre and also scale much better with better amps. They are also more neutral sounding. The 58x is better without and amp though and also is better extended if you like more bass and treble extension
