Different strokes, eh? I’m a fan of the snappy but smooth thing that LCP drivers do best especially in single DD implementations. It comes across as very cohesive while still being articulate and engaging in presentation. All of this is just my opinion, of course, and assumes proper implementation on the manufacturers part.

In the DIY buds I have been building the LCP drivers are some of the best to work with to get my desired timbral and tonal characteristics, as well. Overall I think Bery and LCP are my kings of driver material when done right and assuming all else is equal.

Speaking of single DDs, anyone have a rec for an awesome higher end DD under $1k that’s not from Dita, the Dunu Zen series, or Isabellae. I already have an Isabellae on loan and a Zen Pro on the way, but I’m looking for other killers to audition against them.

If you are not treble sensitive I’m a big fan of the IE600

I should have put Sennheiser on the list too. I can definitely see why so many people like the 600 and 900. Both have some great qualities, but ultimately neither suited my desires from a tuning perspective. I don’t even have a particular tuning in mind, as I like a wide range of various tunings, it just has to be engaging and make me want to listen. Neither the 600 or the 900 held my attention for very long, though I could easily see either having the performance to be a top tier single DD for those folks they suit.

Edit: Thank you very much for the suggestion though!

I just got the information links sent about the release date. Seems tomorrow is the day.

I will try to drop my review later today so people can see my take before they dive straight in or not. To note that I still don’t know the offical price.

Either this price is gonna be set low enough to be a steal and they’re setting up for the shock value of that…

Or they are messing up their company’s reputation on their first IEM.

Not feeling much in-between room here

I can’t help here. But I’m going to guess $500. But mind you, I almost never know :grinning:.

My guess is $379

If the first info I got still applies, you’re cold.

Colder.

I think the release price tomorrow will be lower than it’s official MRSP due to BF sales. The goal, as far as I understood and my ears can tell, is to under-cut the kingpins by using clever ways to tune them IEM. But I might have gotten old information and it comes out as a different price out of nowhere. Every reviewer is sort of blind, despite we can guess it by how it sounds and what the purpose is.

I will disclose this much, as I’m writting the review, that the stage is very intimate and there’s a hint of BA timbre as expected (nothing that major). Other than that, techs are very strong, so you can get an idea where this is going.

IMHO, you should wait for the official price, as it is a huge factor in how one must judge an iem by.

It’s not hard to write contingencies or caveats for the price in a review

Is it better than U12T or Z1R?

I’m gonna say $250 at the max, I think they want to get their foot in the door. I feel like that’s a reasonable price for a solid hybrid package with nothing too exotic going on in terms of drivers.
