Definitely 1DD for metal. I didn’t know OH10s were so good for metal. Aren’t they too raised in the bass and upper mids?
I would have originally thought so, but they work out well to my ear. I have more balanced sets that are better for listening to highly technical stuff including metam, but the OH10s made for a nice change.
Edit: yes, I should add that I have already modded mine with foam to bring down the upper mids a touch.
DUNU SA6 Mk2
Frequency response graph:
The cat is finally out and the price got revealed. I’ve received these a couple of weeks ago and on my “freetime”, I gave them a couple of hours total.
Well, the good news is that those who missed on Ultra no longer need to feel bad, and in fact, save a couple of bucks. The great news is that the Mk2 is even better, on almost every field. Plus, it gives you the choice to turn the bass switch and get closer to the Symphonium Meteor. Now, the Meteor does the infamous BA bass much better, but, nonetheless, 2 IEMs for the price of one.
If I tried not to hype Ultra too much due to its limited supply, despite its performance, the Mk2 leaves me without a choice but to do so. Easiest rec of the month. Review to follow soonish™.

Some friends were talking about my on-going generosity to this community in another thread. Life is simple if you pay it forward. Now I got the chance to own these and finally set the score thanks to the forum MVP, the backstage Santa, the man, @Sonofholhorse. A huge thank you.
As regarding the set itself, my memory wasnt that blured. For those who don’t know the story, the Mests and U12t were my first contact with higher end sets. Back then, I found some flaws on my very limited demo experience, that still hold true to this day. But at the same time, what it does best, I also can appreciate it more nowadays.
NYMZ!!! YOU GLORIOUS BITCH! HEEEEEEYYYYY!
Glad you’re still chugging along, probably on 2 hours sleep, but yay!
Good to see you make an appearance, brother
You showing up is becoming as rare as a daft punk tour - your long term plan all along? I’m liking it
I’m hoping you’re getting some rest, my man. Also, Guy (@Sonofholhorse) is an absolute legend in every sense of the word. What a gentleman.
What’s up man!! Hope babylife is treating you ok homie
Let us know if the mids on the SA6 MK2 is recessed/buried or nah (Ultra was already getting there). And just had the opportunity to try the MEST MK2 again myself from the legend himself - wonderful set
He’s back baby!!
Did I miss something? What’s all the excitement about? All I heard was Goobs yell something about a “glorious bitch.”
Oh hey nymz… Hey guys! You gotta come see this, NYMZ IS BACK!
Good to know the lack of sleep hasn’t killed you. I hope everything’s tip top over at La Casa de Nymz!

Glad you’re still able to write more than 2 words in a row
I’m looking forward your take on these sa6.
Damn, I would most likely buy it on large investment success reward for myself (if it would happen ). Just one thought - am I the only one who considers those MK2 faceplates to look ugly and repetitive especially as compared to OG or Ultra ones, which were one of the most beautiful shells all around? First world problems, I know
Definitely agree with you. Looks like the malformed cousin of the OG
I disagree that MK2 faceplates are ugly. They just repeat with Ultra and MK1. In fact, I think the three DUNU IEMs have some of the prettiest faceplates, but YMMV .
MK1 had random color from wide ranges of colours or mix of them (so you may end up with something bar looking on random as well). MK2 are probed only from orange and orange-ish pallete according to Dunu rep. But right, purely subjective
But take a look on those beauties!
These are prettier, yes. But in general, those IEMs are not ugly either.
Glad that @nymz is getting back in touch. He already knows but a public congrats!! I’m sure all is going good.
I know you where not a Helios fan, however i’m pretty sure you will love this one. For the record i sold my U12T
Anyway, here goes a graph of the upcoming Helios SE, a collaboration between Elise Audio and Symphonium.
Apart from this, it comes in a new shell. Far better fit than the OG.
Oh man, we have some catch up to do. I’ll text you.
@SoundJedi you sneaky sneaky. Although, I was expecting more mid-bass than it shows on paper.
