@nymz if money is no concern, S12 or Olina?

Traillii, U12T, Mest Mk2, Elysian X/Anihilator, Monarch Mk2, Z1R, Anole VX, Indigo, Sultan, Mangird Tea, GK10

Keep in mind it’s too soon to tell, but overall Olina (tuning, stage, imaging, timbre, etc). Pure resolving power S12.

I’ll commit: If I had to choose one, for my library, after 12hours - Olina. If you are more of a basshead, S12 might suit you better. If you’re poor, Olina. If you have the money, both have a spot on my collection.

This is a mandatory piece in every collection :upside_down_face: And we’re doing also community service, with every sold GK10, DN gets a commision

@nymz mate i’m so curious how Olina compares to Value for Money Jedi Master Tea :raised_hands: excited for your review (no rush though!)

I havent A/B much, but I think Olina’s price to performance is insane, so yeah, 100 vs 300, it will win.

I’ve owned the Oxygen before, and if the Olina is anything like the Oxygen but for $100 then I’d say it’s better value than Tea since to me both the Tea and Olina are in the same tier. Hana 2021 as well. I kept the Hana and prefer it over the Oxygen because the vocals are smoother and more mid-bass impact. Resolution wise Oxygen is the most resolving. If I were to rank them in terms of resolution it’d be: Oxygen—>Hana—>Tea. Maybe one tier more resolving going from Tea to Oxygen? And half a tier from Hana to Oxygen.
In terms of Preference it would be: Tea—>Hana—>Oxygen.

Interesting, thanks for your input. I found S12 to be more detailed than the Oxygen, although imaging and separation are better on the Oxygen. Guess I have a lot of comparisons to do once the Olina arrives. I’m really curious to check which one I prefer. I’m eagerly waiting for reviewers to release their impressions and comparisons as well

I know everyone is busy waiting and hyping for Olina, but I have small curiosity I recommend everyone a little bored to try - audio spectrum analyser (audizr android app in that case).

You can check up on what frequency range different sounds/vocals occupies, what is the famous harmonics (2nd, 3rd etc) in real life (see pic above where there is main frequency of my modulated voice followed by spikes in each doubles of frequency) etc. What is treble I still not identified in real life

Waterfall graph also helps a lot to see the hot-zones changed in time
I happen to have plenty of child’s toys at home currently and it is amazing how exact are frequencies “generated” by cymbals for example and how they are differing from one note to another by exact value!

Very fun stuff :baby:

I tried something similar, but just searched on YouTube for spectrum analysis of live instruments. E.g., Trumpets give you harmonics way into the treble frequencies.

Also, this analyser relies on a microphone, and if the quality is low, then you’re probably missing some Freq (particularly the extremes of the FR). Just my two cents :raised_hands:

Yes, sure it is very simplified due to the measuring “rig”, but still fun and amazingly repetitive and sensitive as far as I see it responding to any kind of small sound source (or even touching the touch screen giving the “sub-bass” peaks)

You can try this site:

Note that even if it’s a “tier” better, the resolution itself gets better by only 10-15%~ from Oxygen to Tea, and 5% from Hana to Oxygen, and 10% from Tea to Hana. The resolution jump mainly occurs in the Treble. Separation and imaging wise all Oxygen and Hana are the same, with Tea a Tier better due to the staging being wider and more 3D imaging. Vocally Tea is standout to me over the other two. More intimate, detailed, and textured. Bass wise Hana wins with better sub-bass than Oxygen (same mid-bass), and then Tea.
