They are a bit loose on the adapters but they still work
All suedes as far as iām aware are vegan
Thought Vegan suede was just Micro Suede while suede was just ya knowā¦ regular suede lol
This is from ZMFās website: āZMF Suede Earpads. Easily the softest and most luxurious earpad we offer! This is a vegan earpad with lush micro suede faux leather. This earpad breaths ever so slightly, with a slight reduction in mid-bass compared to leather earpads. Put these on and these ear pillows will fade away as you will ease into the comfort of your headphones.ā
why the hell do they have Vegan suede for a seperate page then lol thats weird. You go to likeā¦ universe and it says suede. But then you have Vegan suede as a seperate page. Thats confusing
They just grouped all their suede pads into one listing. I guess it makes it easier at least thatās what zmf thinks. Everyone including me loves their suede pads I believe thats what they sell the most.
Also from their site: āIn order of brightest to darkest ZMF earpad material: Protein (brightest), ZMF Suede, ZMF Lambskin, Cowhide (darkest).ā
Good to know. I should be fine with the universe suedes then. I am currently going to go ahead and measure out that headband. I donāt want to cut those pegs off incase I sell it so it can be transferred back to its strap. I might just sit down and make up my own custom leather headband for it, Father was a leatherworker, should be alright just dunno if I want to do that right now while waiting on the shp9600 I may just wait and see how it turns out.
I would however like to mark out the white letterings on the sides. You think a black paint marker will take care of all that efficiently? Especially on the grills?
Yeah thatāll work. You can also take the grills out and straight up dip them in black paint lol.
I mean, if I were to take the grills out I would end up changing the design completely as I have access to a 3d printer. Letās not go too crazy yeah? lol. Though good to know that I can mark all that outā¦ I will hold off on that as well till I get the 9600.
Looks like everything should technically be here by Tuesday or Wednesday. Pads are shockingly easy to just pull off not sure why I read in some forums people have issues with it. I see why the adapters though you have those clips that would rip your pads open.
I have lets seeā¦ ZMF Universe Suedes, Brainwavz Cooling Gel Ovals both still mid shipping, and just got tygr pads edt 990 vb, meanwhile already own dekoni elite velour for beyers, and lastly xl brainwavz perf
Oh and those velour extra pads from hyperx cause the originals come with two pads leatherette and velours. I would buy shure but when I bought them they are just too damn thin for my taste they feel like pancake pads to me lolā¦
I should probably pick up some hybrids at some point though not sure which I want either zmf or dekoni. Zmf looks crazy comfortable in comparison
what just those 4 screws and pop them out? simple enough. Though I would definitely wana mark out all that writing other than Philips on the side.
Update: So, I finally got it all in. Still working on the headband whenever I actually get time I wanna fix that. Not a big fan of the strap. ZMF Universe Suedes do some serious magic to this headphone. I couldnāt for the life of me get my beyer pads to fit on the headphone and was afraid to rip my pads so I placed an order for some custom made velour pads that are a bit on the larger size which should fit it more comfortably instead of having to fight with it. It sounds honestly quite balanced out now but the bass is noticeably amped up. It doesnāt really sound bright anymore instead its more warm now which kind of threw me off as I was expecting the mids to get really recessed and turn into a V signature. Granted the bass punches so unbelievably hard if I hit the bass button for the ifi zen dac the headphone literally starts vibrating from just how hard the bass is punching which is a bit much for me honestly. I do wish it had a bit more accuracy in itās imaging but I suppose I have the dt 1990 for that. I probably wonāt keep the shp9500 but I plan to give this as a christmas gift. Was fun sitting down testing with such a cheap headphone. This headphone just sounds shockingly good for the price($48 canāt be beat for thisā¦ seriously).
I am still waiting for the shp9600 to be shipped to me as of next monthā¦ I will be hanging onto the pads I have as well as the 9500ās adapters in the event that they are compatible with the 9600(hopefully? I mean they look like the same size and what not). After sitting down with so many gaming headsets a $50 headphone just blows them all out of the water in terms of comfort as well as price. If I had some complaints I wish it had more clamp and I wish it had a more accurate staging to be used for gaming like a 1990 can be that would make it nothing short of superb but I suppose the dt 880 still reigns supreme as far as stupidly great competitive gaming headphones
Itās crazy how excursive the driver is. This headphone loves ZMF pads. I just ordered the hybrid universe pads and will update you once I get them.
I was honestly considering picking up the hybrids from zmf or dekoni. Though wasnāt sure as to which to pick up in comparison. ZMF has some amazing pads for sure. I wonāt bother with audeze. Far to expensive to me for just a pair of pads honestly.
Iām trying to get a sound sig thats in between the solid pads and the perforated ones. The solids ones have a bit too much bass and the perforated pads are a bit too bass lite, but not bad if Iām being honest. If the hybrids sound sig do actually fall right in between the other two pads then thatās it. Iām done with buying headphones lol.
not really
Will be interesting for sure. Seems zmf has two stylers of hybridā¦ a fully perforated and a fully solid. Meanwhile Dekoni has a internal perforation and solid outside. Assume they will all sound different from one another. Though all are what appears to be in a similar price point
Hey pablo, by chance do you know the pad thats compatible from dekoni for these? I tried the beyer suedes and they are too small. Would literally cause the pad to tear if I forced them on.
I have the beyer elite hybrids and they were easy to put on. Surprised youāre having issues
you using the modhouse circular pad adapters?
Edit: never mind. Managed to get them to fit. had to stretch the pads just a hair. Really snug fit give it that one.
