For the t1.2 think of your 1990 but a bit less forward, a bit less aggressive, a bit more detailed (but this depends on the amp), and smoother and warmer. I do think they are a slightly higher tier of headphone technicality wise than the 1990 but you would want a higher tier of amp to achieve this
It’s sounding like there isnt any others in the less intimate headphones for what I am looking for which is kind of annoying me as thats the sound I am looking for but I cant wear the friggin headphones
I mean, can always replace the pads with brainwavz or something right? as long as they are circular… those pads are huge for the xl lol. Gotta be something out there that matches what I am looking for, for someone with mutant size ears.
I was going to say something like the focal elex, but there is no way you would find that comfy, and chaining the pads destroys the sound imo, most of the other stuff I would say would be out of price range or really not what you are looking for signature wise (and comfort would still restrict most of what I would suggest)
your funny. For the record… Placed that ananda on order… if I dont like the ananda I wont like the edition xx…
Alright so lets narrow this down a bit… drivers don’t matter, Not intimate is mandatory, medium - very wide sound stage no less than medium, Warm sounding headphone with brighter highs. and for bass… just a deep bass is fine cause I have to have my harder thump but I can always eq that too as long as it responds well…
Comfort Wise and Size wise! cause apparently I am a size king lol.
yes it has to fit my ears… budget Used ideally would be in the $500 MAXIMUM thats used on like head-fi I would rather say $400 though to be fair. Cause looking at the 1990 its like $600 yet goes down to $300 quite often by other people and during the holidays… seen the T1 on there doing the same and I could buy the 1770 right now for the same. so I think $500 maximum for a used is a damn good price range
Well, I’ll leave this one to someone else then lol, because I mean I feel like I have already mentioned what would be up your alley sound wise and fit you perhaps and be in your price range, most of the things I can think of don’t meet one of the requirements and would end up most likely being a dealbreaker in either fit, cost, or sound. The main issues are fit and cost imo
I think you would dig the sound, but I have a strong feeling comfort might be pretty dang bad for you
I mean if you want to know the weird thing is it also depends on the design of the headphone cup itself… for example the 58x jubilee is relatively small and yet it fits me fine… was comfortable just good lord the head clamp. I really dont know anything about the Focal Brand if you wouldnt mind filling me in on the sound for them I see the elex and elear as well as elegia that would be in my range… infact elear is on amazon right now for $400 despite the site for focal pricing it way above that. Those are the 3 I see only in a proper range for me from focal… Theres also Fostex that I am unfamiiar with and ya know… argon mk3 over there and those massive pads lol but again idk the sound for them either. I just know fostex really gets expensive really fast and zmf is practically out of the question Edit: personally I think it depends on size of the pad, type of the pad, and style of the cup itself, my ears do not get along with that leather normally less its fairly thin and doesnt completely engulf the ear with ultra thick material least from my experience, the other was the pali pad from sundara and the i think thats micro suede? from the carbon just dont feel right. Velour and other padding works just fine for me though and i can wear thinner leathers just fine i look up microsuede and it looks diff than the pali pad so idk what that fabric is… just isnt comfortable that much to me though… but again… it completely depends on the headphone. Edit: focal clear the emotion of infinite space? what?
That’s something I was thinking, there aren’t a ton of more ear shaped headphones
So I would pass on the elear imo, not that great and has various issues in comparison to the elex. The elex is going to be a bit w shaped, very fast and detailed, not the most impact but enough to be fun, very dynamic, and the soundstage is initially a bit intimate but 360 degree around you, and can extend very far depending on the track, so the soundstage changes. Timbre is good but a tad metallic but not a big issue imo.
They are enjoyable but imo not my cup of tea, they have pronounced bass and treble, but lack impact and aren’t that detailed, I think they can be fun but not something that I would personally daily drive.
A fostex x00 ebony or emu teak with some different zmf pads might be in your range for price and might work for comfort, but might not have as open and wide of a sound you are after, you might like them though
Also something you might end up looking into might be the monolith m1570. Personally I wasn’t the biggest fan of them, but they might work as an alternative to an lcd, but I think for that price you would be able to do better
I can tell you from that picture and the video I just looked at my ears aint gonna work for that pffhahahahah.
This has been quoted to me so many friggin times its unreal. I like an open sound and I am looking for moderate width staging… if it has the low intimacy value I will look more into it. I have trouble finding this in the right price range too since I think if i remember these are discontinued or being discontinued… they are always way up in pricing so it makes them hard to pin down to test…
mind elaborating a bit more on that? does it still sound like it has a form of distance or depth to it? cause you mention it extends far back. Metallic… I used the dt 990 where some sounds sounded like a friggin tin can ,couldve been a tin can in game but hey whos counting when you shoot a gun that sounds like a friggin .22 long rifle half the time. I see it has “Microfiber” pads which I don’t think I have experience with yet. The Sundara I think was more W while Aeon is definitely a V. So what then a step up from sundara? I am pretty curious on the elex now.
It’s moreso creating a space in a smaller bubble around your head, and is very accurate in that space, depending on the song the space can become larger or smaller, depends on the track, it can have a ton of depth with some tracks but less with others
That’s not exactly the same thing I am talking about, it’s not really frequency response and more timbre issues, like a tad metallic tone or ringing on instruments, but I don’t think you would have issues with it
Closer to suede pretty much imo
From my experience the sundara was more neutral or neutral bright, so not exactly it. The elex will have a pretty different presentation than the sundara, it won’t be that close to what you have heard imo
Hell, I just don’t like the idea of buying from drop a whole bunch of items then throwing them back. They are liable to get pissed off or even reject at some point. Koss and elex are both massdrops. I can get by with microfiber as long as it dont wreck my ears. At this point there doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of alternatives though… even that fostex is a massdrop.
Alright so before I go and order the elex or koss I am rather confused. Do these fit what I am looking for? Elex has a weird description and you said I may like the koss just dunno if they are worth while to begin with to what I am wanting to have.
So first off, the elex will take a long time to get to you, just make sure you are ok with that ship date lol. Or look for a used pair. I think the elex would be a really interesting experience and be something you could potentially enjoy, but comfort worries me
I think for the koss, they def fit the bill for price and I think would accommodate comfort wise, but would be a bit of a different experience, but not one that I think you would dislike
