Update: my power is back as of 11:00 AM. Thankfully it was a minor outage and there were not too many other places without power. When the outages are widespread we sometimes have to wait days.

Bloody chi-fi did it again!!!
We spent 14h of fingers bleeding, backs breaking, necks twisting, sweat and anger on car audio project with Fking chi-fi android headunit!!!
9h on installing (no manuals, everything in chinese…)
2h trying to figure out why nothing worked. Unit did not turn on at any point.
3h uninstalling everything and returning everything back.
Day well spent on shit audio…
My friend was so mad and upset. He will try to return them and get his money back.
Unit is broken or it was coded for different models MMI unit.

In my years dicking around with car audio, I’ve learned there’s very little shortcuts and cheap stuff worth it. I’m a big fan of Kenwood and Sony heads, JBL drivers.
Mainly i have used Alpine head units. DLS in the past and Focal drivers now days.
That is true, no shortcuts and if doing everything in competitive car audio levels, even less.
In this case the head unit is the final part. Partly cause the build car had the cheapest integrated MMI system there was… so no audio outputs and all of the car’s internal systems work with it.
This android unit should have used them all and work. Cheap.
Upgrate MMI unit would have been +2k easily and changing everything plus connecting everything + coding is nightmare fuel… Plus the competitive build gear costs blows and classes change to harder ones… many things in many things. Sound comes out so, yes. Trying to modernize how… ain’t.
I have build many project’s and been part in building and consulting many more.
This latest project… has been more than a little challenge. Very strange problems to overcome and build…

If you were in the US i would sell you my old headunit. It was a good double slotter. I cant use it anymore as everything is built into the car touch screens now.
This is what happens when you play sports. Basically this happened to me yesterday and I was playing pickup ball with my friends and I was having a bad game, meaning my shots were not going in. To make it even much worse, my right ankle got sprained after not knowing that I landed on my friend’s foot and it is fucking painful.
I just hope I can recover for like a couple of days and then do some lifting again, since I know that I won’t be doing exercises until my right ankle is all well again.
This may be a bit on the nose for some.

People who are used to Amazon “exploit the underpaid if paid at all”-over night delivery complaining about stuff taking a few days or weeks to arrive.
How can you blindly order stuff online, which then arrives in 51 independent packages (fuck the trees!) and completely ignore the work that goes into making, shipping, storing, repackaging and shipping again any product?
How is next-day-delivery more important than having your fellow humans have a non-sweat shop night shifts every night until they die?
Yes, when your hot water tank blew up and flooded the basement, having warm water by the next evening is nice.
Replacing a smoke detector next day may save a life.
FFS have some patience on your luxury hobby items being a few days late!

The conditions in Amazon warehouses are deplorable at best. The company really exploits underpaid employees to maximise profits. I’m surprised they are allowed to get away with it. No wonder Bezos is so rich.

Yet it’s so hard to not buy from Amazon. When I have multiple things I need to buy, I go to Amazon since online store A only carries one thing, B another, C three things etc.
And then when I try to match same shipping day, Amazon still insists on giving me everything in seperate packages at different delivery times. 
Monopolization sucks.

I bought real nice replacement cables for the pc. Holy fuck theyre so tight and do not fully go on. I am using two hands and have my body backing the case and pushing so hard and it wont go on.
There is no way the 24 pin is going to come off anymore at least not without ripping something else off and its not even fully on.
This build has been trying me at every turn. Never jave i had a pc on the bench for so long waiting to use it. This was the last piece to wrap up

Fucking Spotify, I hate you so much. There are a lot of things wrong with Spotify, like how artists aren’t ordered alphabetically in the web player, how it throws everything on a fucking pile if you “like” multiple albums by a single band/artist and how the interface is just general shit with 0 customization options. What makes it even worse is that every other service I tried basically has the same f*cked interface.
My latest frustration is that it continues playing songs it thinks I will want to listen to when I’ve finished an album, which is fine in and on itself, except that it makes me listen to Brothers in Arms followed by The Alan Parsons Project every fucking time. Don’t get me wrong, I love that song and I love The Alan Parsons Project, but every fucking time!!! Don’t even bother if you’re going to quarter-ass a feature like this. It’s not like those are even my most listened to artists…?
