So I tried watching this video and got about as far as the guy complaining about “strong women” and “weak men” which seems to be part of this whole genre of complaint of white guys being upset when things aren’t about them anymore, and like I have no patience for this bullshit at all. This is as bad as when people complained that the new She-Ra (a show for literal children) wasn’t sexy enough. So they made the new Masters of the Universe about a bunch of women. Who cares?
A lot of people. When you spend over a year telling everyone that the show “is literally all about He-man” and “it’s not the Teela show” and then give people this? Yeah, people are going to be pissed.
I mean, if the primary thing your upset about is that you were lied to and not given what you were promised, that I understand and is understandable. But if you’re upset because the men are wimpy and the women are strong and assertive, I have a lot less sympathy.
Edit: Further if you, like the guy in this video, say that the guys being wimpy and the women being strong is part of “everything that’s wrong with Hollywood”, then I really don’t have sympathy.

So when it comes to things like weed, I tend to be fairly laissez-faire. You do you, I’ll do me, and we’ll keep that mutual respect. I have never smoked it, never had the desire to. My younger brother, who is crashing on my parent’s couch after moving back from Colorado, decided he was going to bring Delta 8 into the house and smoke it.
Weed here is not recreationally legal, and while I understand that by virtue of some technical differences, what he’s chosen to go with is in a legal gray area.
This isn’t quite the problem I have… If you wanna vape/smoke in your own place that you own, do it wherever you please. If, however, you are at someone else’s place(unless they have explicitly said otherwise)… DO IT OUTSIDE, preferably at a decent distance away from the entrance at least.
I say this after walking in the door, only to get slapped in the face with the smell of weed and a fucking head ache(again, I don’t like the stuff).
While on college, people had a hard time understanding this. We shared a house, kind like a frat but without the whole tradition thing. Anyways, smoking indoors was forbidden, but there were always people smoking and always arguments about this. You got respect people who are not into it.
Hopefully some conversation can solve all of this. It sometimes does.

To me people are either cool or shitty to begin with before they got high. I recently quit for the time being after almost 20 years. If there was one thing I kept to it was don’t bother others with my smoking and respect their home. Concerts though I could give a crap, smoke away

While I won’t deny the problems with alcohol, I will stand by the fact that I have personally watched what weed can do to a person. Hell, I’ve watched someone who used to be a friend insist he needed it for pain, refuse to attempt to get any medicinally, then (in the middle of summer here in the Texas heat), decide he was going to put buying 9g over paying the electric bill, or taking care of his daughter. So yeah, I cut ties.
I’ve seen people be so consumed that some stranger telling them that I had stolen from them made things turn violent.
Please, tell me that weed, unlike alcohol or tobacco, has no (or negligible) negative effects on a person.

I never said it didn’t, so please don’t put words in my mouth. I pretty much agreed with your statement that your brother is being rude and now I feel I am being attacked.
I quit because my chest was tight all the time and I was having what felt like heart palpitations. I come from a line of alcoholics and have plenty of stoner friends and alcoholic friends and I can tell you 9/10 times the acoholics cause more issues with their relationships, health and the safety of others. I quit with ease after 20 years, but my alcoholic dad can’t seem to not drink and drive or come to my house and pass out on the couch while watching a movie with us and snore like a goblin. Or try and hold my son shit faced. People with addictive traits are gonna fuck up no matter what they are on, I was merely saying weed generally is far less of an issue over alcohol.
To be clear also, I am in no way trying to convince you to smoke or drink. Like you said I’ll do me and you do you.

I never ment for it to be an attack, and I apologize for it coming across that way. The general argument i always hear is claims that there’s no, if not almost no, downsides to weed. Hell. I’ve cut ties to people who have decided it was their life’s mission to get me to start smoking weed.
I’ve smoked hookah, cigarettes, Black&Mild, and I’ve vaped. I drink every once in a blue moon.
My father is an ex- alcoholic, and my sister is a recovering alcoholic. I’m familiar with how it effects a person, and how hard it can be to quit.
I do still have a friend who smokes weed on occasion and won’t do it around me. That respect is one of the reasons we’re such close friends.
The area I live in has exposed me to a good amount of people who do coke and heroin. I’ve got a friend who’s fighting to get off of both to get her kids back. The neighborhood next to mine is nicknamed Crack Central. One of my grandparents fought their way off a dependence on pain killers.
I’m aware of how bad things can be, but weed is the one thing I’ve seen people fight for harder then anything wise, insisting that “it’s natural”, “it’s good for you”, “there’s no downsides”.
Yeah and they are just plain lying to themselves and others. I knew full well the consequences of my smoking habits and was willing to accept the possible outcomes associated.
