I’m just saying that most of the entry level headphones run fine off a motherboard, so you end up not needing a holdover
One interesting info on these: I’ve been tinkering with then and found out about the “jumper mod”. Basically you change the bridge of the opamp output stage and they are now like 15 or 20% more power (Palpatine approves). I will test them a little more, but i don’t see any major changes than volume and a little bit more of separation. I will say, however, caution as this can make easier to drive headphones loud AF. Luckily the knob is stiff enough.
Link for the original reddit post I discovered, all credits to this guy for a quick and easy guide.
I will try the opamp rolling, for now with a LME49860NA I bought. If I found any difference maybe I will try a NE5532 and/or a Burson.
