Wider bore on the crystal (it seems)! Got a chance to try them?
Try E-pros EP01
Horns? Yeah they are great (just not for what i need tho)
Might get it if mtmtaudio ever get the Faudio Instruments back in stock (L)
2021-07-30:
Elecom EHP-CAP10:
Wide bore, short and very soft (silicone). Quality is low, feels like a stock tips and I can’t get a seal with it. (L size is pretty small, feels like a medium tip) Disqualified.
Spinfits CP100+:
Narrow bore, average sized and the silicone is a bit stickier than usual. Reduces bass and treble, but mids aren’t that good since the upper-treble roll-off causes lack of air.
Azla Crystal:
Wide bore, average length but bigger than most tips (Liquid Silicone Rubber). Makes the Xelastec obsolete, does the same thing but better and also not as awkward fit (not as sticky nor requires the time to make it form to your ears like a foam tip) (Radius Deep Mount is still better for this type of tonality though).
Sony EP-NI1000:
Narrow/wide bore, bigger than average and while it is technically a silicone/foam hybrid (silicone on the nozzle and on the insides) it is effectively a foam tip. Darker and bloatier bass than the EP-TC50, just get the TC50 it is literally 4x cheaper (you get 2 pairs in that one instead of a single pair in the NI1000 and it is half the price) and better.
Sure looks like candy
Can you tell me if the bore on crystal is bigger than on Xelastec?
They look the same to me
So I am pretty sure my search for a tribrid is complete, I grabbed Res’s Oracle as complementary pair to go with the Dunu EST112 and the Variations. While there are still a few things the Variations do better, so far this is just flat out replacing the EST112. Every area the Dunu did well the Oracle takes it up just that one little bit and every song I try where I wish the Dunu did something a bit better the Oracle does it. So I was flat out wrong apparently there was a way to have my cake and eat it too. I thought that the balance of the Dunu was the main reason why so many things were good, but just on the edge of being great, but if those were enhanced it would ruin so many other things… yea I was wrong.
This is still a very well balanced sound so might not be for everyone, but this kind of redefines jack of all trades from being “master of none” to being “master of at least some”.
EDIT:
Also these are really comfortable, but they are quite big and also CIEM style with a relatively large wing on the back underside, so if you have smaller sized ears they might not be the best fit. The variations feel like they float these feel like they fill, but they don’t push.
Already have them in my amazon cart. since the xelastecs are some of my favorite tips but the material does wear on me after enough time.
If you like the Xelastec, the Crystals will be up your alley.
Would have been an immediate buy except Azla really does over charge for all of their tips so i will just wait a bit and toss them in with a fuller order so I can forget how much I actually spent on probably 50 cents worth of silicone.
Yeah, thats what I did. Buy everything at once.
That actually does remind me that I need to buy another Final Audio IEM, I ran out of type E tips and had to hijack my tips off of the Aria for the Oracle. Guess I will have the 500, 3000 and now the 1000. Or would the 2000 be a better choice?
E500 and E1000 might be redundant. E2000 is different but I dont think it is anything special.
At this point, maybe the Kinera Tyr would be a better one to get (type E´s are included).
(Or just buy the tips separately, I honestly regret getting the entire E series. The E500/1000/3000 are good as a starter pack, but after that I would just buy the tips by themselves. Unless you can sell the E2000 to another guy without the type E tips lol.)
Ready to pull the trigger. Will pass on elecom 10 and already have spiral dot coming from penon (cheaper)… Guess my tip collection is closer to be done
I like how they look, but microphonic cable is coming up way too much. Honestly having one IEM where I absolutely despise the cable is probably enough for me (Etymotic why did you make your cable such a pain to replace and so horrible at the same time)
Yeah, shouldnt be hard to make a cable thats NOT microphonic…
Honestly final did it so far on the 3000 and 500 are really good and the KBear Neon is also good in that reguard, So the BS that some say that bullet style where the cord hangs down will always be microphonic are just wrong.
