RikudouGoku's Database (IEMs/Earbuds/Headphones Ranking list)

Ready to pull the trigger. Will pass on elecom 10 and already have spiral dot coming from penon (cheaper)… Guess my tip collection is closer to be done

I like how they look, but microphonic cable is coming up way too much. Honestly having one IEM where I absolutely despise the cable is probably enough for me (Etymotic why did you make your cable such a pain to replace and so horrible at the same time)

Yeah, shouldnt be hard to make a cable thats NOT microphonic…

Honestly final did it so far on the 3000 and 500 are really good and the KBear Neon is also good in that reguard, So the BS that some say that bullet style where the cord hangs down will always be microphonic are just wrong.

Totally BS…its the cable´s fault, not the bullet style lol.

One other way is to buy the E3000, switch out the tips and then use it as a gift lol. :joy:

I might do that with this E1000. Give it to my gf… With some stock tips from other iem :joy:

Even better, give it to your kids and show them the world of good sound without breaking your bank.

I know I didnt have good taste since I loved the Klipsch S4 back as a kid lol.

I honestly probably like the 500/1000 a bit more then the 3000. The 3000 is not bad at all but the neutral from Final is really a good neutral sound.

I probably should just buy the tips by themselves though. Especially since I am probably replacing the e500 with my Dunu EST112 as my VR IEM. The dunu runs off of the headphone out of my Quest really well. And the irony of the IEM costing more then the headset is not lost on me.

Yeah, Final sure got a really good neutral tuning (not bright neutral like everything else).

But indeed, I would buy the tips by themselves. You will also not waste your money on sizes you wont use.

I use 2 different sizes of Finals. Mediums for deep insertion bullet style IEMs and large size for CIEM style IEMs.

Though I do have more CIEM style IEMs.

You can buy one pack of each size then.

Another rec gone right…

Now to see just how far I can take the search for a single DD IEM, and collect weird/interesting IEMs.
Skipping hybrids since I am just not a fan of BA treble compared to DD or EST.

Agreed. After hearing what good EST implementation can do (Thieaudio Monarch) going back to BA treble is too painful. The Tea is one of the best hybrids for BA treble though, probably because of it’s tuned dip at 5-6K the BA timbre is less pronounced than most.

That area is generally fine for me it is the 8k is range and the higher reflection area that is used that cause me issues. Some BAs are ok, but those one have really blunted air / space / imaging since that whole area is where it seems a lot of messing with dips and peaks is done to create sound staging, imaging and other auditory tricks in IEMs.

Thank god we have EST treble now and can actually enjoy listening to treble and don’t have to worry too much about it anymore.

So far for DD I have BG’s Mele on my radar along with probably the new Hana to see what Tanchjim’s sound style is like before going for something like the Oxygen.

Also probably the FD3 pro.

Got Hana has me curious… Precog and super reviews praised it… But yeah, would love a sweet single DD. Oriolus isa seems good for my tastes, but rather expensive

EST treble is love, EST treble is life.
