RikudouGoku's Database (IEMs/Earbuds/Headphones Ranking list)

Yah, cause i don’t wanna degrade my sound experience =)) So i wanna buy a earbud at the same price range as my in-ear =)) that’s why i wanna ask at that price

Trust me, iems costs MUCH more than earbuds for a similar SQ.

I say the 0-20 usd earbud range is like 50-150 usd for iems.

And also, I have the DQSM Turandot which is a 200 usd earbud and is considered TOTL. Its bad, really bad and I feel ripped off by that price. So please do not make the same misstake I did lol.

Start with some lower priced stuff and then maybe you can move up. But you need to know what type of earbud shell will fit your ears as that is really important.

Take a look at this post to see some examples of different shells: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/earbuds-round-up.441400/page-3207#post-15645387

Also, earbuds and iems are VERY different. So if you go from iem to earbuds you might be dissapointed in the bass since that is where buds are usually much worse at. (although the Yincrow X6 is pretty close to iems without killing the rest of the sound.)

Oh really? That’s new information for me. And luckily, bass is the least important to me when it comes to SQ. I prefer wide soundstage, nice vocal and instrument.

Lucky you then.

If that is the case I recommend the NiceHCK DIY MX500: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32823569005.html

Or the K Bell-LB IF your ears are smaller than mine, because those are too small for me but sounds pretty good (although I think the MX500 is better).: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32983779232.html

Probably better off with something like the Koss Porta Pro’s then?

Those arent earbuds though. :joy:

Earbuds are great when you are fatigued after using iems but still want to listen to music, thats when I usually use my buds.

yeah, after almost 2 years with the IEM, guess my ears feel little tired now lol

Sounds like you will like buds then. Although I guess you are aware that they dont have any isolation at all?

Well, I wouldnt rec using buds outside because of that. Also, most buds dont have a replaceable cable, but that shouldnt matter that much when they are so cheap anyway.

Guess i give it a try. I don’t have anything to complain about my in-ears, just wanna try something new haha. The isolation is really that bad? So i gotta keep my in-ears then, to use on the train, bus,… and buy an earbud for relaxing at home :grinning: :grinning:

Exactly, I would never recommend using earbuds outside. Unless you want the world to hear what you are listening to and also risk damaging your ears at the same time (due to having to increase the volume lol).

Yup, earbuds are very non-fatiguing even if they have similar treble quantity to an iem that is fatiguing.

The pros of earbuds generally speaking vs iems are: Huge soundstage, airy treble, non-fatiguing treble, vocals (especially female vocals), timbre, tonality, bass quality and value.

The cons are: Bass quantity (doesnt extend as low as iems, not a problem if you arent a hip-hop, trance or edm fan), not as detailed and as good instrument separation as iems, no isolation.

Feeling like i fell in love with wrong person for almost 2 years now    The pros of earbuds you give seem to benefit me more lol =)) And btw, i just take a look a some earbuds online now, have something in mind: the MX500, moondrop nameless, Fiio em3. Any idea of these ?

The MX500 (nicehck) is the one I would rec. I have the Nameless and it doesnt compete lol. The EM3 I dont have so cant comment.

Check my database, I have a page for earbuds. :+1:t2:

Ok, looking at it now. Thanks for your help, maybe buy an EM3 and make a review???

Nah not interested in it, dont think it is that good since no one is talking about it on head-fi lol.

Looking at the Yincrow RW-9 for my next earbud purchase at 11/11 (oh boy my wallet is going to die then muhahahahahha) :joy:

I’m waiting 11/11 too, to see if the Fiio BTR5 has a significant decrease. Guess i’ll be very cool with the BTR5 on shirt while outside   Also want to use as a DAC for my laptop too, my laptop sounds so damn boring =)) damn it Asus :joy: :joy:

Yeah the BTR5 should be a great bluetooth amp/dac.

You can check out this thread for some information on bluetooth amp/dacs, a lot of information that is summarized well here: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/the-hi-fi-hi-res-audiophiles-bluetooth-headphone-adapter-thread-8-jul-20-qudelix-5k-impression-added.906655/#post-14951328

Are you trying to say that 50-150 usd iems are THAT crappy? Haha jk jk

In terms of value vs earbuds, yes lol. :joy:

Tri Through cable

(Kbear Limpid = Top, Tri Through = Bottom)

(Faaeal Litz copper = Top, Tri Through = Bottom)

Measurement = 0.15 ohms!!!

The connector on the 4.4mm jack has some weight to it so it feels very high quality. Ear hooks are transparent so with the silver color on the cable itself, it is very hard to see the ear hooks and they arent as strong as on the Faaeal cable. Chin-slider that works.

This is epic. Awesome cable. For those of you that wanted a silver colored Faaeal cable this is it and this is actually a bit better since the connectors/divider are higher quality and also has a working chin-slider.
Although best cable in terms of value is still the Faaeal cable due to it being quite a bit cheaper (around 10 usd djfference).

I am so damn happy this was a great cable. I ordered 3 of them when they first popped up so I had no idea if they were good or not. Decided to gamble on it since they looked so similar to the Faaeal cable and I hoped this was a recolor of it since I prefer silver over copper color. (Visually speaking.) Which it seems to be.

I love a thick cable like those,
is there one with a black connector?
