Gotchya. I skipped the P1 so I have had no IEM planar experience. The Timeless was my first planar IEM. So hearing the flat stage with little to no depth and no audio events popping out at me giving me a more dynamic presentation like I’m used to with hybrids and tribrids was jarring.
I’m was not shooting at you, my dear.
I’m just saying it for the sake of sanity. People are pissing on free impressions all over. They should just buy it and give their impressions. But it costs money, right?
Wonder if people really believe we all get freebies here Apart from @Rikudou_Goku , who gets free samples and sells them.
Well the more impressions the better, everyone has different ears.
I understand…
I do appreciate all the thoughts, opinions, and impressions… You’ve shared with us.
No worries
You’ll have to show me how to do this drop down for your photos!
Ooh everyone is here… Well whilst everyone is online I might as well ask…
@Rikudou_Goku @Resolution @Godria @nymz
Is there a “Mele” or “Tea” pair of headphones… Like a super value yet still bloody amazing pair of headphones? Is it the Sundara?
No one wants to believe it that poor in imaging. They were either getting it or seriously considering it. Think most be happy if it was average with what it does. I have absolutely no reason think Resolution is wrong. That a bigger problem to me than the slightly recessed mids. That does depend on how much slightly is. I hope it’s not as much as the H 40 is! That be 2 deal breakers though not sure Bravery was ever in running.
Yes. IMO, the pair of headphones every audiophile should own are the Sennheiser/Drop 6XX
Epic! I will look into it!
It’s all about what you value in audio. Everyone is different, especially for different genres and libraries.
I heard someone in a different thread talking about listening to Hendrix and it being awful on a set I enjoy. I don’t enjoy recordings that old and have never been a fan of most music/recordings that old. I’m listening to and trying to acquire the very best quality recordings I can. I rarely if ever listen to anything recorded before the 80s.
Someone enjoying recordings that old will probably have a completely different list of things they value in their replay of that music.
I am a sucker for Simon and Garfunkel and the Carpenters tho.
Yes, I like both artists though I listen to Paul Simon more because of recordings. I obviously was pretty sure the Timeless play metal. The Sundaras can because of detail and speed a little ( maybe a lot ) of slam in the bass is gone but in reality the what I call slam is there. The deep bass is a little bit absent. I like them but they do not fit my life style. I have lived with Martin Logan CLS a wonderful planar. That well imaged like you said Timeless did. They lasted about a year before I sold them.
I would say atm the Dusk and the ba timbre does not bother me as much as you and the 3 dt are my leading candidates. I am also hoping another alternative pops up. I plan on purchasing something in a month or two. I will listen to Mele daily till then. I love the tonality and on lot of my library they are good. On music like prog metal , metal and prog rock they have problems in my opinion. The Dusk are and should be much superior on separation and speed. They present a clearer picture of music.
The 3 dt concerns are fit and treble. The Dusk a few times were shouty to me. I guess that could be ba’s. I am not sure. I do have peace to eq at desk and Quedelix 5 to try and tame treble if I had to. I am sorry for all the imaging questions I was hoping it be average. Thanks again and if you have any other ideas do not hesitate to suggest.
It’s the “Hide Details” thingy:

Thanks. I thought you had to find code to do it or something.
They can. You’ll just be missing out on some dynamics and slam from sets that do it better. The Timeless actually portrays the edge of transients extremely fast with no blurring of clarity. Something slower drivers can not do.
All of these sets put music into your ears. They have differences though and those little differences and technicalities are the things I/we pick apart.
There are a lot of people who can’t even hear this stuff, don’t know how to explain it or don’t even care about it. My girlfriend for instance thinks I’m nuts.
I only know because I’m a “mod” on another forum which uses the same software as this one …
I would say the HD6XX not the Sundara tbh…
Especially sometimes the HD6XX goes down to $195 - 200 just keep an eye on the price.
If you want a Planar headphone I have heard good things about the HE400SE
@Godria @Resolution as well…
What’s so good about the HD6XX compared to the Sundara in your opinion? I hear a lot more buzz with the Sundara.
Price-wise they are not that far apart.
Do you know if that FAAEAL cable will work with the Mangird Tea? Also, what’s the length on these? I would like a bit longer one than the stock cable and a pure copper option.
