RikudouGoku's Database (IEMs/Earbuds/Headphones Ranking list)

That’s what I figured. It’s weird that companies convey that info differently

They should mean per channel. But shady ones can mean in total.

Wait till you see sony walkman fans saying their hella expensive micro sd cards made their music sound much better. I’ve heard of over the top DAP fans before but not to this extent. They are really something else.

Right, they got these.

Anyone have a link to cable A30 on the spreadsheet? Is it this one? A custom job?

Yes, that is a custom mix that you can ask for in the XINHS store.

Thanks very much for the quick response!

On the topic of cables… I picked up an open box Sony IER Z1R. The 4.4 balanced cable is missing a small metal piece at the left earpiece and is unusable. The store where i purchased them wants to sell me a $300 cable, saying Sony doesn’t make replacement cables for the Z1R. I know little about cables, but i imagine i could get a lot for that price. Can any of you suggest a 4.4mm MMCX cable that would work well, maybe for cheaper than $300?

300 usd is well in the ripoff/snake-oil territory.

This metal piece that is missing, is it on the male part of the cable itself? And not the female socket in the iem?

If you just need a 4.4mm mmcx cable, you can just pick whatever you like from XINHS:

Thanks! It did seem like snake oil. The piece missing is on the male MMCX connector. It is what snaps the earpiece onto the cable. I’m checking out that link…thanks!

You should be fine with just a different cable then.

Take a look at my own cable page as well for more cables.

So now i’m using Final E type for a bit long now and i want a change and maybe an upgrade eartips. And based on your ranking the only upgrade is Radius Deep Mount? Is there any other choice? Cause i’ve seen a lot of new tips coming nowadays? Or the Radius still remains the best?

Deep mounts are fantastic. They’re my favorite tip for presenting an IEM “the way it is intended”.

TRN T-Ear tips are very good new ones for balanced listening.

Dunu S&S tips are good soundstage-y tips if you want to retain/add bass.

TRI Clarion tips are good soundstage-y tips if you want to reduce bass.

I think those four tips would cover every possible IEM you could listen to

I prefer the FAudio instrument tips (white) over the Type E. They are similar to the Type E but the bore is slightly wider. I find vocals less forward and more open while bass is about the same as Type E. For everything else I am all in on Azla Vivids. For IEMs with deep fit I also really like the Type E TWS tips.

The only other tips I have tried are the regular Azla, spinfits, E-pros and random stock tips from various IEM manufacturers so I can’t comment on other after market ones
