More bass texture = better

Some people would say speed/tightness but I argue those 2 factors depends on what genres you listen, rather than an always “more = better” thing.

My brain has been pinging me about the B3 - when, when, when…but my ears have been pinging me about the Caster and I haven’t even been listening. The GAS3 is so. close. on fit. Really looking forward to experiencing this new dimension!

That’s my take too…Z1R not a basshead set but it’s DD sounds natural to me, double bass string pulls and releases sound natural to me, their impact, life and decay too…so it will be interesting see how B3 and C3 shakeout in this regard :+1:

C3 bass texture is better than the B3 as well. Although the C3 tuning is not finalized yet (same with the B3 but that one is as close as done now).

The description of the bass levels is certainly music to my ears!

Off topic, but I’ve never laid ears on a set of Z2R and I’m curious - if you’ve heard both Z1R and N3 or 800XT - how do they compare in terms of bass quantiy, bass texture, overall tuning, etc. I love both of those older models - would Z1R be an upgrade? an interesting sidegrade?

If @Rikudou_Goku wants to chime in as well, I’d be grateful…

EX800st is by far the better one compared to the N3 in bass texture. (faster and tighter as well) (does need PEQ to fix the entire FR though.)

I have seen some people say they think the EX1000 (pretty much the same as the EX800st) has better bass texture than the Z1R but i havent heard the Z1R so I dunno.

@Rikudou_Goku

Does having B1 & GB2 make B3 redundant? Or is it a more subdued tuning?

Very different from the B3.

B3 is nowhere near as dark/bassy as the GB2, it focuses more on quality.

And GB2 is DARK. It’s the only bud I have ever used where I preferred/needed donut foams.

Yeah, B3 solves that problem.

Hahaha, I’d qualify as more of a peculiarity than a problem, but I’m also not really a basshead, either; I tend to run the lowest-density foams where I still get satisfying bass on most models.

Ditto. I don’t remember N3 as being particularly resolute in the bass, very smooth and warm-balanced signature. very light, great form factor/looks. So much has changed since then. I dare say kefine delci (similar fr) would give it a run for its money and even EW200 can pull out great detail in the bass, all around $50. I do wonder how much things have moved on from Z1R.

Been thinking that for a long time…glad someone whose heard them can confirm that…
Bucket list item to hear one day. Walking into cafe’s has become difficult :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

The EW200 and N3 are VERY different though. Closest to a budget N3 IMO would be the Blon BL-03.
