RikudouGoku's Database (IEMs/Earbuds/Headphones Ranking list)

Do you ship to Canada? (How much for shipping) :canada:

Yes I do, it is 11 euro to Canada.

I’m interested - however do you have any quantitive descriptions of each bud’s sound? I understand you have subjective descriptions of each but I find that difficult to make a decision based on those.

Or is that something I just need to eschew completely

Rider 1 is interesting to me based on the description but I have little experience with earbuds so I don’t know how to compare them loool

Riku maintains a spreadsheet here, unless that’s what you’re referring to: RikudouGoku's Database - Google Sheets
Not sure how objective one can be on the sounds (since the graphs are dubious at best).

Graphs are at least useful in seeing relative differences between IEM’s - regardless of how accurate they are. I have no idea how to discern between the differences of these besides from their qualitative descriptions :sob:

I guess it’s just based on vibes

As @Sonofholhorse mentioned, graphs for buds are useless so people just have to go off of descriptions or A/B comparisons with something they are familiar with.

Kk sounds like I need to do more reading - but the description roughly captures what I’m looking for:

Something pretty open sounding, with a warm tilt

Otherwise just let us know what library/genre you listen to and what other transducers you like, so we can give you a more accurate recommendation.

I currently have symphonium titan/meteor, mmk3 as main iems, listen to a lot of different stuff but for the buds I’d like something that can handle vocals well. For a reference sound, something like an RSV signature with forward vocals and warmer tilt.

Alvvays, Men I trust, Clairo, Jonah Yano, Beach House, Boygenius, Mac Demarco, Raveena etc. → would be what I’d want to use these for

I guess I’m looking for a 6xx type sound but in earbud form?

thx thx

Example song that I’d like the buds to perform well with: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lh7xEfarh7I

ok im not familiar with any of that lol.

I believe the Rider 1 would indeed be the most fitting, current gen 3 models that are out are probably a bit too mid-bassy compared to the RSV. Although the Caster 3 can be a good match.

You impressions from 2 years ago were almost exactly what mine are this week. I got the EB2S Pro ( edited ) and it is a well made flathead, but the sound was OK, but I own stuff that is less than half the price that sounds better both in terms of bass texture, detail retrieval, and resolution. The nicest thing I can say is that with their silicone rings on, they are very comfortable and stay in place even when I am moving around doing things.

That the OG EB2S, or the pro, that you have?

Yep sorry, I have the Pro. I dig the form factor on it.

I was curious, cause I think the pro is bright and leaner, actually.

My guess is that means I would probably enjoy the non Pro version. This isn’t bad, but it isn’t on the same level as cheaper buds I already have.

Hey Riku just noticed this. People have been saying these are the best tuned IEMs and oh would you look at that the treble seems to peak around your target

My target was beyond the times. :smirk:
