The Tea is a fantastic IEM. Buy with confidence.
done, shame it wasn’t on amazon, I hate waiting ~2 weeks
hahaha, my comment on the shills review got deleted by the mods.
Some more impressions on the M5. Included accessories are pretty good and includes 2 cables, 1 without mic (the one on the closeup pictures) and measures at 0.3 ohms which is pretty good. The other has a mic and measures at 1,3 ohms which is pretty bad.
First impressions (with the reference filter):
Bass: Typical BA bass in tightness and speed although it does stand out a bit with the timbre as being a bit better than average (for BA iems).
Mids: male vocals are clean and detailed but it does need some more warmth. Female vocals however are actually amazing. Tonality, details and clarity are all very good and so is the timbre.
Treble: well tuned treble that is bright but not shouty. Clean and detailed with good extension. Timbre is quite good here as well.
Mids and treble remind me a lot of the Tanchjim Oxygen, so this might be a more budget Oxygen (although the bass is of course better on the Oxygen being a DD vs BA, but for the kind of music that these 2 shine with, the bass isnt that important anyway). Wont comment on which one I think is better yet, but the Oxygen is the one this reminds me of the most.
did they give any reason?
The CCA CST sound surprisingly good to me, just got a second pair for 9€ today.
Only thing is fixed & flimsy cable… but ~ 10$
Worth a try, I don’t like wearing anything outside that costs more than 100€ so…perfect
I will get the KZ DQ6 since it got a 3dd setup and thats something I am interested in, in the higher tiers (like the UM 3DT).
Just added my 2 cents worth lol.
Banging love sushi…enjoy
Indeed, my favorite food.
Any thoughts on the KZ ZSN PRO X? For whatever reason a few of my aliexpress accounts got a free $11 on them if I spend $11. I think I’m going to hit the Chi-Fi iem scene hard.
Havent heard it. I had the original ZSN like 2 years ago, but cant remember anything about it…
If you want a KZ, the DQ6 and the ZAX seems to be the best ones right now.
btw guys, that shill I called out yesterday actually lowered his rating on the freya to 3/5 from 4.5/5 lol.
I’ve had a hard time making purchase decisions based on reviews posted on Youtube or Head Fi. Most sound like they are obligated to say only good things and when they are critical, it is a very polite and smoothed over criticism. I’ve found it easier to read the many comments from forum users in informal discussions, compared to specific reviews. But of course, there are exceptions where reviewers are quite honest and not biased, you included.
I purchased the Mangird Tea recently, and was quite overwhelmed by it’s ability to represent vocals and instruments realistically. Another exception to my general mistrust of reviewers, was Prime Audio Reviews… very articulate and consistent in his reviews. He definitely swayed me a bit in making this purchase because he provided an excellent description as to what the Tea does well, which matched what I was looking for to get out of the sub $100 iem rabbit hole.
I know that BGGAR is somewhat controversial to some people, but I won’t judge him one way or the other. I’ve made a few purchases based on his rec’s, and he was right on the money every time.
Thank you for the trust.
I agree, that most reviewers just shills and I personally dont read many reviews anymore. Reading impressions from real consumers that knows what they are talking about has generally given me better results.
Personally I have gotten burned on bggars recs a lot of times but also some good ones as well. But I agree with him more than I do with crinacle at least.
Looks like XINHS had another cable that looks pretty good that I missed.
Wonder if they will make you a custom cable if you ask them…
I would like to see a copper + pure silver hybrid in a 4 core setup that costs around 20-30 usd.
Edit: they will, costs 30 usd. I will get pics on it tomorrow.
