Sounds likely.
I just hope it is smaller so I can actually use them (and a lot cheaper so my wallet can afford it). Heard the mon/clair are bigger than the blessing 2 lol. Which is already way too big for me.

I hear ya. If the blurry picture is any indication, they appear very similar to current shells. I would prefer if they were just a little smaller, but they fit me fairly well, at least for IEMs that have longer extension depths.
Thieaudio - deep. Fiio - shallow.
I get why they would need bigger shells since they are using quite a lot of drivers for the clair/mon (8 or 9 drivers!) and the EST themselves need a lot of space due to their energizer.
But with only 4 drivers, they shouldnt be needing much more space than the EST112…
The EST 112 appears to be about the size of the Mon/Clair from everything I’ve heard/seen. I’ll post comparisons when I have the 112 in-hand.
I’d love to see them slightly smaller as well.
What worries me is those EST drivers cost what they cost, so I don’t understand how the IEM cost will be dropped by a large percentage, unless Thieaudio is building their own custom drivers.
They are probably using the same EST as the EST112.
So if Dunu can do it, then adding another BA driver in the excalibur shouldnt make it much more expensive than the EST112 (especially since the accessories in the EST112 are very impressive).
(the dunu also got a beryllium DD, not sure what dd the mon/clair and the excalibur has though.)
That’s still $240.00 just for both electrostatic drivers. I’ll be surprised if they can get the price down to $500.00. If they can, I’ll be impressed. I’m positive they’ll incorporate their new DD from the Legacy 4. By the look of the graphs, they also don’t appear as appealing to me as the Monarch and Clairvoyance.
What’s the verdict so far?
Pretty well tuned V-shaped iem. Bass is elevated and is on the tighter side for this price range and texture is pretty impressive. Mids are recessed but not too much. Treble is probably the area where some might think it is too much or fine, to me it is a bit peaky.
I definitely take this over the Blon BL-01. But we see how it stacks up against my favorite budget iem, being the mesh modded Bl-03 after I had some more time.
Now, I want to open my other packages so brb.
I’m liking this new venting design I’m seeing pop up more and more. I really like the nozzle mesh. Wide open yet still looks protective. Nice balance.
IEM looks large?
Indeed, looks like the vent on the Dunu EST112 and the Zen.
It looks like a regular metal mesh with my naked eye. But on the macro pic it certainly does look different.
Not really, looks a tiny bit smaller than the Fiio FH3.
Really? At first glance, I thought it looked similar to the Moondrop Blessing. Good to know. Pictures can be deceiving. Maybe the similar transparent shell making me think it was similar to the Blessing.
Loool, definitely not the size of the B2. Not even close.
Guess my macro pictures makes everything look a lot bigger.
wait…
a metal clip-on?
I thought the point of this “headphone style” is to make it really comfortable and light
Its the YUIN G2A, the ear clips are plastic. But if you meant the body, then yes it is definitely metal.
It was your second photo, not your macros. lol
lol, well. Its not big, on the average size.
Yeah, it looks like chifi ksc75…
I was just concerned about the weight
I heard people say it is the upgrade to the KSC75. Weight isnt heavy, but might be heavier than the KSC75.
Going to try it on another day. Still have 2 more packages to open lol.
