there used to be russian phone the had to screens, one was e ink for longer batterie life. A classmate had one back then, was pretty interesting. I dont think that makes sense, but I think its a great idea for android players, since its a second device for most people already
I remember those! Yota phone or yotaphone I think.
There is a modern one with E ink actually and it even has a pretty good dac/amp (ES9318).
But IMO, E ink is not viable for smartphones due to the poor visibility in daylight and the extremely slow refresh rates.
Can see it being used in DAPS but the perfect ones would be something like this.
Where it is pretty much a static image all the time, which will have ZERO drain on the battery. And poor visiblity in daylight might not be a big problem.
Actually e ink has puurrfect visibility in daylight, the more light the better (just like a paper, no freaking 2000nits iPad would stand a chance).
On the other hand it’s refresh rate would make browsing library terrible for most people in my opinion. Though those newer generations may be better, there are those e ink notebooks like remarkable etc while my experience is with kindles only
yeah, which is why I think it would be perfect for a portable dac/amp that only shows static text, compared to DAPS. That refresh rate really is a terrible experience after coming from regular displays.
you mean we can’t just dump and run?
I am absolutely doing it wrong. I am on this like flies on … schiit
Catheter comes out this morning, scans later in the day to see if it can stay out.
We had a “getaway” in Charlotte planned before all this happened, we got there last night so we’re driving back home for the day for these procedures then driving out for one more night. I stopped pain meds yesterday around noon so I should be able to have a good beer with tonight’s dinner. Which is my favorite way to enjoy a drink.
Good luck, man
You’re in my thoughts, no doubt about it

This one seems to lump them with BGVP?? Nice shells.
It’s like they chose the name by dropping a cat onto the keyboard.

That’s expensive but I’m not surprised. It’s probably competing with something like the SP3000.
