Wonder if they just screwed up the logarithmic scale on the first two graphs by accident (or no clue what they are actually doing) or to hide something. The dynamic one looks better but has this weird extra spot before 2k.
Man Void is a terrible name for a product unless maybe that product is a heavy metal album. Very Chinese-speakers not understanding the context of English words.
“MoonZero” is a weird too, but less weird as a product name.
They used different target (red line) for dynamic’s graph than for the other two (Harman vs Diffuse field my best guess) what makes these graphs a little bit confusing and gives an illusion that this dynamic headphones are less bassy at first sight. I does not seem to me that this dynamic headphone has a bigger bass roll off than other two (seems even slightly better extended in lows).
I feel like open-back dynamic drivers tend to roll off bass more quickly than planars - maybe I’m crazy? The graph formatting and targets used in these is a bit weird. Tuning of the planar strikes me as not dissimilar from the lower-mid tier HFM. The dynamic has some assertive mids, some definite mid-bass bloom, okay low-bass extension and air that seems like not a massive departure from Focal Clear (or Senn 6__) in terms of FR.
Eh, I’m in the camp that a graph doesn’t tell the whole story. I tend to notice that planars have a cleaner response, but dynamics tend to extend a bit more, resulting in a deeper bass. This isn’t always true, as there are clear outliers.
For some reason I am really thinking about getting the Venus, don’t even know exactly why. Just sold a Arya V2 some weeks ago plus soundstage is very important for me in a headphone and I have no information how the Venus will perform in that aspect. In addition of course the danger of importing a headphone with unknown QC.
Another point, Edition XS exist…
Roll off in the sub-bass is always worse on an open back dynamic headphone than on a planar. Closed back dynamics of course can have nice harman like bass shelf.
not that I have anything against pricing…if it’s a quality product and worth $600, there you go. however, exchange for me is the killer…that $600 becomes $900+
